FR

All this joking is fine and good, but I just saw something that really stuck in my mind. At this point in time I implore all who participate in this thread to watch a work of fiction, though I try to avoid using ficton in an illustriative manner, sometime it is just too appropo. This particular work of fiction is a Twilight Zone (original) episode entitled "On Thursday We Leave For Home".

Watch it with a critical mind, I mean if you have to piss pause it. Watch it for real, not as eye candy. Watch it and you will see why I recommend it at this time. If you can't get it on youtube or something I have the file and I will find a way to make it available to those who ask. Unfortunately it is 337MB so it might not go well via email, but there is a way, somehow.

Make 51 minutes of your time available, it's not that hard to do. But it just fits so well I don't know what to say. I don't want to review the plot because watching it unfold will be much more revealing. The relevence is clear.

Unh, this was already done by Paul, and quite a few others since, though none with quite the same success. Diminishing returns, yanno? It's an old skit. So how about we write it off as all in good fun, and you can work on something better for your next try.

BenevolentM -> RE: A Guide for Dominant Men: How to Preserve Yourself (3/20/2011 3:34:13 AM)

I found a little time. I am not going to be able to do InvisibleBlack justice, but there is a problem with what he wrote. One of the things that I wanted to point out earlier and spend more time doing was to explain how what InvisibleBlack wrote was internally inconsistent. He starts out by saying that we all know that these things are irrational which seemed promising, but later he contradicted himself by saying that these things are in fact rational, so much so that you can take the rubbish to the bank. What I can buy is that nice guys often get nowhere. Now that is home brew I can buy. It is not, however, an argument not to be a nice guy.

Once upon a time I was listening to the radio. Someone wanted a song to be played in dedication to a man who once fulfilled the role of a guardian angel one evening.

I was the man she was thanking. That evening I didn't get any pussy, but pussy isn't everything. I got something else. Some would say that what I got was a poor substitute for sex. In some ways it is, but how do you explain it to someone who has no moral compass? It has the quality of a superstition. That night I affirmed that she was special and that makes me special too. It was good of her to acknowledge that I had done something special and for it I was special to her. That night she thanked me for being a guardian angel. She would refer to me as a guardian angel once again on the radio. She described the circumstances.

I've fulfilled the role of a guardian angel more than once and I'm not a misguided piece of shit. I have been treated by women. It is not a reflection of me, however. This is a matter that God has affirmed.

Originality is not applicable here. The experience was new for me because there is a difference between acquiring something second hand as opposed to first hand. In that sense it was new. He is wonderful. Something that is true does not change.

In a materialistic world everything changes, because nothing is true. Some things are true and He is one of them. He was very true. How do you explain this to a non-believer? I don't know. All you can do is tell people about this amazing thing that happened.

God knows that I am lonely.

For the faithful, it's called faith. It doesn't necessarily make things easy, but it does help preserve you. In the Old Testament story of Sodom a righteous man would be lonely in such a place. The evil is not confined to a city in the story I am telling. He looked and he looked.

Yes I do know what I'm talking about. It would go over everyone's head if I tried to explain it which is kind of ironic I suppose. It's a lonely place.

GreedyTop -> RE: A Guide for Dominant Men: How to Preserve Yourself (3/20/2011 8:41:16 AM)

Thats GREAT, Susie!  *happy dances and sends hugs*

Yet again you are showing your arrogance.

In one sentence you say "nothing is true" and in the very next one you say "some things are true"

I am sure it would not go over anyones head when you explain which one is it? nothing is true? or some things are true?

What you wrote suggests that you weren't very good at solving word problems in math. An important class of word problems involves equivocation and being able to make subtle distinctions so that you assign the variables correctly. You are exhibiting an inability to do that. What I write can have a strong mathematical character.

Awww.. his mouth sure is purdy when he talks like that. Too bad no one other than himself understands what the hell he is saying.

BenevolentM -> RE: A Guide for Dominant Men: How to Preserve Yourself (3/20/2011 9:38:27 PM)

I suspect InvisibleBlack contradicted himself in an interest to appease the crowd. He showed some courage, but not enough to avoid contradiction.

There's usually an internal consistency to the roadmap of the psychotic traveller.

At any rate, legions of headcases have met Haysoos. Fuck-a-doodle-doo. I'VE met Jerry Garcia. [sm=dancer.gif][sm=hippie.gif][sm=popcorn.gif]

A point I wish to make and impress on everyone is that the process by which mates are selected is not especially rational. Due to this much injustice occurs. Some improvement can be achieved by adhering to certain norms, but it is still fundamentally irrational. Many in this lifestyle attempt to achieve a more rational "sane" way of life by breaking away from the norms. The norms are oppressive.

That's just casting aspersions. Do you have an on topic story you would like to contribute? A story of heroism, for example, or do you just live to knock others down?
