Have you ever been proven right?  I have to repeat myself here, my views are highly regarded by a plethora of posters, your views (which are the views of others actually) are shared by at most 5 other rushfelchers.

But you attack the messenger, because you cannot face or dispute the logic.

I see you made an edit after my post, so I will address that as well.

Its funny that you accuse me of attacking the messenger when thats all most of you leftists on here are capable of. Yourself specifically, when you do rarely comment on the actual subject of a thread rather than eek out your weak personal attacks invariably someone asks for a translation from your standard gibberish

"This is really something I want you to focus on when you watch the youtube showing the "sting" operation: the timestamp in the upper Right hand corner. Notice that it skips around, out of time. That is, the editing process has been managed not according to a chronological progression, but according to propaganda purposes. He says he will speak for himself and take his "NPR hat off" at 052773. This is a full 3:00 into his talks, and comes after timestamps which, in the chronology, occur at a later time. This whole thing is prefaced with that statement, but they don't use that as the departure point for the video presentation. Why do you think that would be the case?" Now why on Earth would I give you a link? You haven't provided a single link, AFAIK, since you joined, despite repeated requests to do so by several forumites.

Do your own research.

Say all you want to try and prove that the tape has been edited, hippie. Isn't it funny though that, for all that you and others say about O'Keefe and his methods, both Ron Schiller (the man with the "objective" views) and Vivian Schiller (the head of NPR) are now gone from NPR?

It is surprising how few of the neocons possess an intellectual starchblocker that would prevent them from seeing every fucking harebrained slobbering fanaticism as fact.

Hmmmmmmm....if that is so, it must be the same intellectual starchblocker that prevents those on the left from seeing every scaretale about global warming and corporate evil as the distortion of facts that most of them are.

That's why I usually bring in several sources rather than one and usually try to get at least one source that is not from the right.

Foxnews. breitbart. mail. csmonitor.  Ja, I see what you mean.

USA today. A REALLLLLLLLLL right-leaning source there.

Here's some other sources...

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/npr-executive-ron-schiller-bashes-tea-party-gop/story?id=13085305 (we all know how far to the right ABC News leans)

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11069/1130910-109.stm (written by Charles Lane of The Washington Post. A real "yellow journalism" rag there)

From October 2010:
NPR CEO Vivian Schiller says that Juan Williams should talk to a psychiatrist for his Muslim remarks.
Speaking before the Atlanta Press Club on Thursday, Schiller had the insolence to say that Williams should have kept his Muslim remarks between himself and his psychiatrist!

I wonder...do you suppose she has made the same kind of statement anywhere about Ron Schiller and his remarks? Oh wait...she has been ousted from her post as head of NPR. I doubt that she will be asked to render her "unbiased" opinions anywhere soon.

mnottertail -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/10/2011 8:03:17 AM)

NO one has unbiased opinions.

Gannett
Gannett owns USA Today, USA Weekend, USA Today Sports Weekly, and the USA Today Information Network.
Gannett owns 100 daily newspapers in the USA; the Army Times, Navy Times, Navy Times Marine Corps, Air Force Times, Federal Times, Defense Times, and Military Market.
    Gannett also owns:
    • 16 newspapers in the United Kingdom
    • 16 television stations in the USA
    • Partial interests in the Cincinnati Reds, Classified Ventures Com LLC, (with competitors Knight Ridder, the New York Times Company, Times Mirror, Washington Post Co., and Tribune Co.)
    • Quarter share in BrassRing Inc. (Human Resources services and software)
    • Gannett partners with General Electric (GE) on Space.com and with Kight Ridder and Tribune Media on CareerBuilder.com
    •

  • USA Today could hardly be called a commie rag either.

  • Now there is no doubt that these people have opionions (referring to NPR) but they are hardly left wing.

  • Again I point out that wrinklemeat, John McLaughlin, Pat Buchanan, Fred Barnes, David Gergin, George Will, and William F. Buckley among others are or have been on PBS when there was no other forum available.

  • The guy here did indeed create a hoax in his acorn movie, is a convicted criminal, got outted for another hoax attempt from CNN and so to pop off and just start believing him is not going to be the centrists first thought, they are gonna take a lookie see first.

Now, it is also notable that muslim brotherhood (the articles say that it was unbeknownst to the folks trying to get the money that they were playing at fronting them) moneygrubbing is only at issue when it is NPR, but everyone of you is studiously avoiding Wrinklemeats involvment with, supplying of, arming same, and funding and training these same folks, and the very likely possibility that had he not done that (as well as some other stupid fucking around in the middle east)  these guys would not be of any issue today.

Do we seek root cause analysis and solutions or is this just partisan williwaw?

Regarding an earlier comment you made vis a vis big business evil, I see you haven't deigned to denigrate Mr Eisenhower on my Journal of RealPolitik and call him a socialist and point out his errors.  So, I will at this point consider your untutored commentary here as proof of your shallow breadth and depth of knowledge regarding these issues and the simplistic hysteria common to the right.

Then drop the faux outrage against Fox.

I didnt say that there were not media outlets that outright lie and mislead the feeble minded, such as Faux Nuze, and I ain't a bit outraged that simpletons are unable to discern such matters.

Yeah. Thats the faux outrage I meant.

I understand, since you did not present anything of an existential nature in your quip.

"Break" in this situation means to do investigative work and be the very first to expose something like a scandal or a crime, or malfeasance or the wasting or other misuse of taxpayer money.

Why didnt they BREAK the story.

What means "break" in this situation?  The people who created the story by entrapping that idiot NPR fundraiser broke it.

Where's the scandal, crime, or malfeasance?  They induced two fundraisers -- who are just a species of salesperson -- to say something stupid.  NPR maintains -- is supposed to -- organizational separation between its editorial (news) and financial functions.  So this particular incident doesn't prove a pattern of editorial bias at NPR.

If NPR reported the news exactly as does Fox, would you still oppose federal funding for it?  If so, then why does this incident mean anything?  Doesn't it just distract from a principled discussion of whether the press should be federally subsidized?

There is a real story here:  NPR's ratings are increasing while corporate media news ratings continue to decrease.  Corporate media has an incentive to bring down NPR.

There's another, more interesting, story: Apparently, there was little love lost between NPR member stations and Vivian Schiller.  For example, the executive director of my regional NPR affiliate described her in terms such as "out of her depth" and "nasty," is glad she's gone, and expressed the hope that the NPR board hires a CEO who has some clue about what they're doing.  His view is that the Juan Williams and Ron Schiller debacles were just highly visible examples of  Vivian Schiller's incompetence.
