Why would you think that?

You'll just keep spitting out your childish insults which only demean you.

Its true that he didn't trash Jews but he did state his organisation was strongly pro-Palestinian which is unfitting for any mainstream media institution.

Are you sure? I don't think there's any media outside of Israel that doesn't lean that way at the moment. Even the Murdoch lot don't seem mad keen on the occupation of the west bank at present.

Yeah I'm sure - balance in dealing with any issue a very simple principle of ethical journalism. A few mainstream news outlets aren't too bad when it comes to the subject.

Whether the video was edited to make him look bad or not, it does seem clear though that Schiller makes very pointed attacks on conservative values and politics. I think this goes to the core of a much broader problem that confronts everybody. Generally speaking, with a few notable exceptions, the media does have a definite left wing or liberal perspective, that is sometimes an agenda with "advocacy journalism" which has become extremely popular. I don't consider myself to be particularly right or left wing so don't have a big ideological axe to grind but it seems to me this bias is profoundly damaging because the media is the primary source of information in society. If there is a particular emphasis in one direction or the other, it will inevitably influence the direction of a given society for the bad (or if for the good then for the wrong reasons). I think an agenda driven news media is extremely undemocratic.

Thank God for FOX News then, huh?

The only "fair and balanced" media source.

AFAIK Rulemylife seem to accuse those that disagree with his perspective as being fans of Fox News. Balance is balance is balance. Its got nothing to do with being left or right - that's the whole point! I don't actually get Fox News, being in another part of the world where it isn't commonly available. Left wing bias is an issue that even those with integrity on the left should care about because it unnaturally skews opinion. The BBC is an example of one institution with an agenda. The BBC's news anchor Peter Sissons wrote a book about the BBC which is pretty startling in its criticism. Here is an extract http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1349506/Left-wing-bias-Its-written-BBCs-DNA-says-Peter-Sissons.html

FR

This little manufatroversy is indicative of something I've been noticing for quite some time. Certain elements of the right are quite clearly working together to attack groups they don't like. We all remember the attacks on ACORN culminating in the O'Keefe fraud.

Recently an O'Keefe immitator failed in her attempt to fake video of Planned Parenthood at the same time Republicans in the house were trying to defund the organization
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2011/feb/10/abortion-usa

Now we have O'Keefe himself getting into the fray against NPR while Drudge is running story after story attacking NPR and the House Republicans are going after all of public broadcasting. The reason to go after NPR instead of PBS is that the right knows if they directly attack Sesame Street they will lose.

Sanity -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 2:10:56 PM)

No, the reason to go after NPR instead of PBS is that NPR is admittedly using public funds to push their political agenda.

Moonhead -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 2:14:25 PM)

Quite. Nobody anywhere else in the media is doing that, are they?

Sanity -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 2:18:13 PM)

Using public funds?

No.

Moonhead -> RE: Grubbing for Muslim Brotherhood money (3/8/2011 2:27:50 PM)

Yes.
Outside of the 'States a lot of television stations are publicly funded.

You didnt mention you were referring to Iran or Cuba or China or the Congo.

There is no end to state sponsored propaganda outside the U.S., is there.

Yup. Anybody who's head isnt up their own posterior. Bye Bye NPR funding.

What a stupid statement to make.

How many stupid statements does that make? Is anyone keeping score?
