It’s not necessary in the strictest sense. Removing it doesn’t mean the wearer stops being owned. That being said, I’m a huge advocate of symbolism, and the collar provides a symbol of what she is to me. Wearing it also provides her with a day-to-day reminder of her place in my life and allows people who know what they’re looking for to recognize a kindred spirit. Overall it’s an extremely, but not overridingly, important part of being mine.

Random Story Time:

I guess it has a little bit of relation to the topic:

Many years ago I had a fiance and a slave.  I was too in love with my fiance to see the blatant love my slave had for me.

Yes, I am capable of extreme idiocy. "The Princess is in another castle." when the princess was right the fuck in front of me.

I apologize for my language and for digressing.

Anyhow, there was this time that she had a bad day at work.  She called me in a tizzy but I was in bed with my fiance.  I used to make her sleep with my collar under her pillow - she was in no way, no how ever allowed to put it on herself.

That one time I said that she could.  It immediately calmed her down, even though I was 40 miles away.

The first thing in the morning she called me all chipper and happy and asked to take it off.  That is the only time I ever let a slave put on or take off a collar.

Symbolism works - under certain circumstances.  The worst part is that I didn't realize which girl really loved me.

And if anyone has a problem with the way I handled that I have a shotgun.  That's my way of saying, "I don't want to talk about it."

Like I heard and saw at pone wedding ceremony in the Ozarks, pappy sat at the door of the chapel nursing a shot gun and commented as things were about to start.....

"Y'all know that this here billy made my girl in the family way. None are leaving here alive until he makes an honest woman of her.."

Shot guns are handy at collaring ceremonies if ex bfs and husbands or parents are determined to "rescue" the slave...... Beside which it may deter some wanker for slave-napping said slave girl..
