FitToBeTiedinID -> Warnings about meeting people on this site? (3/17/2011 3:25:33 PM)

Hi,
New post here. I am wondering if we could set up a forum in case someone has a bad experience meeting someone on here. I don't mean that we should criticize anyone, but just to be on the lookout for some people for safety reasons. Any thoughts?
-Sarah

No, we don't do blacklisting here. Why?

Because just because you had a bad experience with a user, does not mean they might not be someone else's dream date.

By the way, this is not a positive experience, so why did you post it here?

I would have put it in Off Topic or Introductions.

FitToBeTiedinID -> RE: Warnings about meeting people on this site? (3/17/2011 3:31:55 PM)

Relax, I posted it here because there is no section for bad experiences ... hence why I was asking the question. And I am not talking about "blacklisting" anyone, I am simply saying that if someone meets someone on this site and is injured or abused in any way, it is only fair to have a forum to post the experience. Otherwise other members may put themselves in danger.

Every post would be about me, most likely.

lol, really :)

How would a thread help in a situation the police should be involved in? They would have more ability to help prevent future victims. There is a place and time to report such things and it would be with someone in law enforcement.

I could come in and say... I met FitToBeTiedinID and she ripped me off and could be lying through my teeth. What you propose is wrought with things that would simply be used improperly and abused.

We are all adults here... we can fend for ourselves.

First of all, I am totally relaxed, it would take far more than the ever changing newbie posts to warrant stress.

Second, has it possibly occured to you that this topic has been brought up, oh, I don't know, maybe hundreds of times?

Therefore, my reply is probably the only type of reply you will receive, other than some snarky ones, so feel free to imagine they are not relaxed as well.

The idea has been brought up in the past, and it has been rejected. Its not going to happen, so you'd be best to just give it up.

That is what the police are for.

be a grown up and take responsibility for yourself.

If others started posting about their bad experiences with someone I wouldn't read it anyway. Why would I? You had a bad experience with the person. Why would that mean I or someone else would?

I've had bad experiences with some men but then later on they met another gal and they had a wonderful relationship. Yup, surprised the hell outta me but everyone has different experiences. Such is life.

So you didn't like someone. Big deal. Move on and forget about it.

stellauk -> RE: Warnings about meeting people on this site? (3/17/2011 3:41:28 PM)

Wouldn't it be much simpler to apply common sense and go with your gut feeling and accept that any sort of interaction with people involves an element of risk.

Why should this be a shared responsibility? Isn't personal responsibility enough here?

I mean what next? A thread entitled 'What security questions should I be asking someone prior to meeting them?'

One can be abused without it being illegal. I almost met a guy on here from Boise, but found out from other women who have met him that he used one of them- taping her with consent, but then never contacting her again or telling her what he did with the tape. Another woman on here said he had herpes. Not illegal activities, but some bad news.

Lockit -> RE: Warnings about meeting people on this site? (3/17/2011 3:45:16 PM)

Well god damn.. string that fucking user up!

Lady.... you just had to get that out didn't you? You are talking about blacklisting.

Shame on you.

Lockit -> RE: Warnings about meeting people on this site? (3/17/2011 3:48:33 PM)

Whether or not you get used or get herpes... is up to YOU! I don't get used or get herpes because I am responsible in what I do. If guys get away with using people, the people used have a part to play in it.

Anything bad I let myself get into... I got myself into. I'm an adult.

Funny, I thought being used was what a lot of the women on here are looking for.

If you let somebody you don't know make a sex tape of you...well  lets just say you pretty much deserve to have your naked self splashed all over the internet.

And she knew this how? You see, that's the thing with rumours...they may or may not be true.

Yup, there are a lot of predatory assholes out there, I know...I'm one of them. But what can you do? Take precautions, use your common sense, and don't do anything stupid.

If you're afraid of stds why not ask them to get tested before you have sex with them?? Puts all rumors to rest huh? Wow..imagine that.

Theta, you are such Troll bait. Every time I see you I get this uncontrollable urge to beat me a theta girl. I suspect it is akin to a dog chasing a car... I'm not sure I will know what to do with it when I catch it.
