And the UN wouldnt cover for Obama (and the entire coalition really) at Rice' behest? Youre far too naive for this world.

Typical, you make a post. I point out its wrong. You call me naive.

See how it goes, first you make you own spin, then you try and shoot the messenger for pointing out your errors.

FAST REPLY TO NO ONE IN PARTICULAR, BUT;

It is coming to my attention that there are a vast number of racists on this website who care for nothing except what pleases them.

I always thought a "no-fly zone" was to deny a country's air forces the ability to conduct air operations.

Since when is it part of the operation to conduct operations against ground forces?

Well, now they're hitting targets on the ground. And columns of military vehicles that can't,.....fly.

Latest news, NATO is taking over.
NATO is making a plan to enforce "No-Fly Zone" or will they "expand operations"?
Most people realize that the "No-Fly Zone" alone is not going to be enough.

Nato is taking over? Good, so now we can leave!

Give it a couple of days, it'll be "The Associated organization of European States" or some such nonsense!

God, I hope that was sarcasm.

Marini -> RE: Is it too late for No-fly zone to be effective? (3/24/2011 7:36:47 PM)

Maybe, maybe not.

To be or not to be, that is the question.

NATO takes over- Will US handle combat support?

brispslave -> RE: Is it too late for No-fly zone to be effective? (3/24/2011 7:38:32 PM)

I must have missed the part where the US congress declared war on Libya...

popeye1250 -> RE: Is it too late for No-fly zone to be effective? (3/24/2011 7:39:34 PM)

Oh sure, I love spending $100 Billion just because Obama or someone else in Washington tries to tell us that someone's "human rights" in a country 6.000 miles away are being,....."violated!"
That's why our Troops exist right, to protect the "human rights" of people in any country in the world?

There is no question. NATO can't carry on air or ground combat operations without the US.

Mike, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe we or "Nato" had a no-fly zone over Egypt and now that *Syria* is flaring up none there either, correct???

P.S. And what about Yeman? Shouldn't we be spending $10 B or so for a no fly zone over them?
Hell, we "only" have 12 Carrier battle groups, shouldn't we pony up and have 30 or 40? They do that and *everyone* gets drafted! Can't have all those "fureigners" getting deprived of their "human rights" now can we? Isn't *that* the job of the U.S. Taxpayers to supply "Human Rights" to the whole world?
And of course Iran needs a no-fly zone too! That would take about 6 Carrier Battle Groups alone!
And we'd need at least 40 million Troops to "occupy" all those countries just like we're doing in S. Korea for the last 60 years!
Yup, that's how I'd want my taxdollars spent, fuck the old people in this country on social security. And all the homeless people living under bridges, tax them by the night! That should raise enough to build half an Aircraft Carrier.

PPS (Sarcasm meter off the chart)

ORIGINAL: Hippiekinkster

"America, in the assembly of nations, since her admission among them, has invariably, though often fruitlessly, held forth to them the hand of honest friendship, of equal freedom, of generous reciprocity. She has uniformly spoken among them, though often to heedless and often to disdainful ears, the language of equal liberty, of equal justice, and of equal rights. She has, in the lapse of nearly half a century, without a single exception, respected the independence of other nations while asserting and maintaining her own. She has abstained from interference in the concerns of others, even when conflict has been for principles to which she clings, as to the last vital drop that visits the heart. She has seen that probably for centuries to come, all the contests of that Aceldama the European world, will be contests of inveterate power, and emerging right.

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. "

John Quincy Adams 1821

That was 1821.

That's not the reality today.

We support dictators and then decide to depose them when they are no longer useful to us.
