Status: offline 		This was sent to me by another poster,who felt that it would be received better were it posted by an actual American.That in and of itself is sad,sad that someone has been made to feel that information would be rejected,scorned or attacked simply based on the source that presented it.
I certainly hope that poster was,in large part mistaken....and yet mistaken or not in that opinion...it does speak volumes about the way in which some of our contributors are made to feel.

What an amazing bunch of bullshit!!!!

A level playing field so corporations can be competitive?

Gee, I thought Google was doing pretty well.

What we are talking about here is corporate greed.

What's your tax rate KD, 25-30%?

But we should be lowering it to 5-15% for these companies for what reason other than those companies trying to extort tax breaks by threatening to move offshore.

Maybe the answer should be that we tighten up the tax code to stop this nonsense.

These companies are not going to abandon the U.S. simply because there is too much profit to be made here.

They don't have to leave... just open a po box in Switzerland and call it their corporate headquarters and pay much lower taxes.

You can rant all you want but if other countries have lower tax rates in this day and age they will register their.

I think there is merit in a nat'l sales tax. Buy more stuff? Pay more tax. There's merit to a flat tax too. If only everyone would just pay a porportional pecentage to income, we'd probably have all the money we need to run the ship of state.

What's wrong with everyone and I mean EVERYONE (corporations now that they're considered people, too) paying say, 8%?

ETA: NO EXCEPTIONS! Nada, zilch, zip!!

So what should we do Butch, just cut or eliminate corporate taxes and then raise taxes on individuals to make up for the shortfall?

This conservative idea that we should ass-kiss corporations is one of the major reasons for the deficits we have.

What's wrong with it is proportional.

Eight percent from someone making 20K a year puts far more of a burden on them than taking eight percent from someone making 200K a year.
