WOW!!

This is a link worth clicking on!!!!

These factory workers are making 47 cents to 97 cents an hour???

According to the link, they are working in inhumane and unsafe conditions, also.

This is slave labor!!

Shame on GM!!

Evil, soulless greedy bastard corporations, are these the people we are depending on to create jobs and help save our economy?

lol, no we don't need no stinking unions here in the United States!

Not only that-  but US owns a portion of GM.

Floors me how GM can charge 70k for a truck-  (more then I paid for my house)  and gets away with this.

THE NATIVES ARE REVOLTING !

How dare they think they are entitled to the fruits of their labor. This is ridiculous. Vote republican and I bet a few bombs will straighten them out. Fuck them, and they don't even have that much oil ! Who do they think they are. Don't people understand, there are two countries in the world. One that must be made safe for rich people to go and examine the colonies of worker ants whenever they please, and the other is the third world country where people are happy to get a loaf of bread a month. And the two occupy the same space at the same time.

Kill them, we got plenty of workers. How dare anyone expect anything from us, we who made them what they are ?

Get it Humky ?

T^T

They mean to buy products where the management is in the US.  Screw the employees.

Once again proving you know nothing, GM has had a subsidiary in india since 1995 and actually had plants in india since 1928, acording to wikipedia
while I see you are so hungrily wanting to bash Obama, you are only about 10,000degrees out of order

If the unions here had any smarts they'd stop whining about outsourcing and actually do something about it by sendimg people to third world countries to help orginize unions over there. Corporations use cheap labor for one reason and one reason only... because they can. If you really want to help American workers against unfair foriegn competition... then help the foriegn competition to organize.

$.97 an hour sounds bad by our standards but by India it is, by some estimates, 4 times the average yearly salary. Surely we are not so naive as to expect a US wage in India?

I would be willing to bet there is little difference between the plant in India and one in Indiana... If our workers can do back breaking work so can they.

Now that said if there is mistreatment of workers it should take more than one source to confirm it. I am however all for a congressional investigation of the charges.

But I'll not jump on the slave driver GM wagon until all the facts are in.

Butch

Butch,

can they afford to buy a GM car?  If so- then they charge too much in the US for us.

You have to know my feelings by now on Global economics...it sucks. But this is about the treatment of workers not their salary or justification for it....Apples and oranges that is my point...or at least one point.
