Red Light Camera Footage

And unbelievably some people consider these cameras to be an invasion of their privacy.

Your video is proof that the argument they improve safety is not true. 

The same people that blast through red lights, either because they are distracted or just don't care, are not going to be changing their habits because they get a ticket in the mail.  All they have to do is mail in a check and they don't even get points added to their license.

Nope. The truth is that these cameras are so effective that municipalities are often forced to shut them off because the contracts to operate them eventually become more costly than the fines they bring in. They pay for themselves up front and then people quit running the lights -  making the intersection safer - and then the city goes in the red on them. This has happened time and again.

The video is a lie.

Tickets are issued when the yellow is too fast- a blocked car too slow in the intersection can cause another car to get a ticket.   They issue them too - for right turn lights- where supposedly everyone here comes to a complete stop for 10 seconds and THEN looks both ways before proceeding.

Not to worry  tho-- license plate recognition software is en force -  to check for tags, insurance and so forth.

Every road in the future is going to be a toll road and time peak- off peak billing.


This film is a lie.

Very few people blow red lights.   The tickets given are those on the line....a split second.

Happily our police chief here does not want them.

Bullshit. I see it all the time around here when driving late at night, which is why I wait at least 5 seconds after the light changes to cross an intersection unless I can see that no one is coming. Trying to 'beat' traffic lights is a favorite sport for some California drivers, along with other stupid things likely to cause an accident. Just this evening, some asshole damned near killed me in a head on collision by trying to blow the doors off a semi using the turn lane on a 2 lane road to pass.

They work.

I googled it, plus I can talk from experience.
