They could go after the billions lost to medicare/medicaid fraud to get some. Now it's nowhere close to a trillion, but I think it would be a good start and I can't think of any bad consequences from it.

Medicaid fraud? That's the most stupid idea I've ever heard. Medicaid goes by poverty guidelines set years ago when one adult could support a family. Families are split up every day, forced to divorce in order to qualify for medicaid because somebody has alzheimers or cancer. How about doubling or tripling tax rates for wealthy couples as opposed single rich people and forcing them to get divorced to be eligible for lower tax rates? If they get caught lying about their marital status we can prosecute them for fraud.

Yes Medicaid fraud. For example, when some hot shot doctor bills medicaid for things he didn't do or someone else bills for equipment they never sold.

Now please enlighten me. Why is it such a stupid idea to try and stop that? And do you think the answer to everything is tax the rich?

boi is right. Fraud can come from many directions, not just those who get the service, but those who bill the service, Drs, pharmaceutical companies, equipment, administration. Not everyone is picking on the poor.

defiantbadgirl -> RE: RON PAUL: HE'S IN! (4/26/2011 10:09:06 AM)

Crooked doctors and companies yes, families no. But the problem is, if they prosecute the companies, they're going to prosecute the families too. Therefore, medicaid fraud shouldn't be prosecuted until the federal poverty guidelines are reformed where families aren't forced to split up. Yes, I think taxing the extremely wealthy is the answer because they can afford it. Have you ever seen the documentary Capitalism: A Love Story? It tells how strong our economy was when tax rates for the rich were much higher. There were still plenty of rich people, but there was also a strong middle class. Corporations that outsource jobs overseas should be taxed at 90%. They deserve to be penalized. Families that just want to stay together don't.

Medicaid fraud shouldnt be prosecuted??????

And whats to keep them from packing up their total business and moving out of country?

Taxing the rich, by itself, isnt the answer.

Taxing businesses, by itself, isnt the answer.

It takes a complete package of taxing and cutting to get this mess under control. Something I have YET hear any politician state.

Bhwahahaha! True!

defiantbadgirl -> RE: RON PAUL: HE'S IN! (4/26/2011 10:39:33 AM)

Medicaid fraud shouldn't be prosecuted until the federal poverty guidelines are changed because if they go after the companies, they'll go after the families too. Couples don't deserve to be prosecuted for medicaid fraud because of marriage or in some states even co-habitation. I seriously doubt rich people are going to move to countries where speaking their minds can get them locked up and suicide bombings are common. Why didn't they leave the country years ago when they were taxed at much higher rates?

tazzygirl -> RE: RON PAUL: HE'S IN! (4/26/2011 10:43:44 AM)

Fraud is fraud, no matter how you look at it. And its the biggest reason why so much money is wasted in these programs... from all sides.

defiantbadgirl -> RE: RON PAUL: HE'S IN! (4/26/2011 11:00:43 AM)

How often do you hear of poor people in England and Canada getting prosecuted for health insurance fraud over their marital or cohabitation status? There such a thing would be viewed an outrage and it should be here too.

tazzygirl -> RE: RON PAUL: HE'S IN! (4/26/2011 11:03:01 AM)

UNTIL that part is changed, fraud is still fraud. When raising my son, there wasnt much I wouldnt have done, including lying to any agency to get any help he may have needed (thankfully, it never came to that, but it was close). I still would have expected to pay the price for that fraud.

Different type of insurance for one.

Are you really this ditzy or do you just like playing one on the CM boards?

defiantbadgirl -> RE: RON PAUL: HE'S IN! (4/26/2011 11:22:14 AM)

Which is why medicaid fraud shouldn't be prosecuted until the laws change. The government needs to stop policing the world, change health care to single-payer, tax the rich at higher rates, end subsities to rich companies that don't need them, and vote yes on bills that make outsourcing more expensive than employing US workers. The US needs a president that will put America first.

Lot of bullshit rhetoric from you but no facts, no substance, not even a discernible argument.  Just a temper tantrum.

Different type of insurance for one.

A type of health care Americans have a right to under the constitution (life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness). Having the right to health care = having the right to life. Having a right to marry or stay married without being prosecuted for fraud = the right to persue happiness.

Are you really this ditzy or do you just like playing one on the CM boards?

I'm sorry you feel you have to devalue others to inflate your ego.

So you advocate defrauding a system designed to help the poorest and weakest among us. Really?

Here is the site to report fraud and amazingly enough, it doesn't even address those people you are talking about. So tell me, what's the problem with this again?
