SilverMark -> RE: Does anyone else wonder why it took almost 10 years to find bin laden? (5/9/2011 8:46:25 AM)

I am not that surprised by not finding him for 10 years at all. In those 10 years we had Iraq, and Afghanistan where the objectives weren't about 1 person. Bin Laden had a network of people in a very backward area that in some respects is made for hiding. In both of the wars we have been embroiled in our resources have been stretched as well as manpower.
I was as thrilled as anyone that he was finally taken out, but just how important is this one man? Hell, the FBI can't find Whitey Bulger and he is an American without the resources of a Bin Laden, or in any country that is as desolate as Afghanistan or as complicit in his hiding as Pakistan seems to be.
I don't see it as a Bush vs. Obama difference, Bush's failing presidency distracted him as did the epic financial failures of our banking system. Obama came in under the worst of economic times since the depression, had he not paid more attention to the economy and the 2 wars that were left, his standing in my eyes would have diminished greatly. Thrilled he is gone, but the amount of time it took to me, is irrelevent.

only a hard core psychopath would want someone murdered without a trial.

DmYngBlack or whatever you call yourself online,
I never voted for Bush or a Republican in my life,
son.
Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Of course with your great knowledge of psychiatry, having been institutionalized for as long as you have been, would know such things. Too bad they couldn't find a cure for being such an ass. Perhaps a change in meds for you would be apropriate?

Nope, it is not just you who wonders, for I do too, but all I can say in answer, was OBL served a political purpose and his final purpose was boosting a flagging presidents political career.

But RO is quite correct, some people do not sell out there principles for money, for there is still some integrity left in this modern world and besides OBL I believe had taken on some kind of folk hero status for being a rebel up against what many over there see as the oppressor.

Perhaps OBL was seen as a modern day Saladin, seeing as it was Bush who mentioned crusade.

Yeah, he was a real fucking hero.

How about if I buy you a plane ticket and you can visit all the families that this coward devastated and explain to them how he was just rebelling against their oppression.

why skew and dramatize the post?

Dont you have a valid point to make that you have to stoop to bullshit and drama queen hyperbole to get an emotional response rather than a thought out response?

That is really lame you know and shows your inadequcies.

Anyway I do not see where anyone said he was a hero to us.  I continue to point that people who ant people murdered without trial are psychopaths and there seems to be a lot of them now days.

If he was a hero to his own people he is now a martyr to them.  murdered by the fair and just us of a long arm of the uk.   Nice move ohaha!

Quoting people out of context in order to make bogus points is SOP for certain leftists at least

So your calling yourself a leftist? Cause that fits your behavior to the proverbial  tee.

Yes I am often mistaken for a lunatic psychopath.

No argument with most of what you said, but:

Bush's failing presidency distracted him as did the epic financial failures of our banking system.

What was distracting him until 2007 if those are the only factors?

Thats a direct lie, Bush didnt quit looking for him, he just didnt obsess over him

Im guessing that asking for the "correct"  context that his quotes were taken from would be easy for you to prove no?

You might as well ask for the moon on a stick, Lucy.

Well, it is George W. and it is hard for me to defend him, but the Afghanistan Operations started in October 2001 and the Iraq war started in March of 2003.

That's actually what I was getting: the chimp was a lot more interested in securing Haliburton an oil rich vassal state than chasing after somebody he couldn't be bothered tracking down over knocking over a couple of buildings in New York.

Sure thats it, he is an evil genius monkey...

No, he's an incompetent cretin who shouldn't have been trusted to run a pissup in a brewery, never mind a country.
Do try to pay attention.

I've changed my story about the chimp when, pray tell?

mnottertail -> RE: Does anyone else wonder why it took almost 10 years to find bin laden? (5/9/2011 12:12:21 PM)

He's got you confused with the lad who was talking about CIA defunding some 30 years ago and the evil monkey, and the radical islamists and the derailing and the logic and the reason and the proof without proof and anything but the actual topic.

Moonhead -> RE: Does anyone else wonder why it took almost 10 years to find bin laden? (5/9/2011 12:19:05 PM)

No point expecting an explanation or apology, then.
