I am not that surprised by not finding him for 10 years at all. In those 10 years we had Iraq, and Afghanistan where the objectives weren't about 1 person. Bin Laden had a network of people in a very backward area that in some respects is made for hiding. In both of the wars we have been embroiled in our resources have been stretched as well as manpower. I was as thrilled as anyone that he was finally taken out, but just how important is this one man? Hell, the FBI can't find Whitey Bulger and he is an American without the resources of a Bin Laden, or in any country that is as desolate as Afghanistan or as complicit in his hiding as Pakistan seems to be. I don't see it as a Bush vs. Obama difference, Bush's failing presidency distracted him as did the epic financial failures of our banking system. Obama came in under the worst of economic times since the depression, had he not paid more attention to the economy and the 2 wars that were left, his standing in my eyes would have diminished greatly. Thrilled he is gone, but the amount of time it took to me, is irrelevent.
