Look...the only REAL answer is to support the notion that government must be starved in order to be controlled.  You, me and everyone else, should be able to keep the lion's share of what they make because no government beaurocrat is going to spend our money more wisely than we are.  Who can take care of your aging mother better?  Some pencil necked geek in Washington or you?  If you elected to pencil necked geek to confiscate your earnings, you had better hope he is able to take care of your mother because you won't have the RESOURCES.  Do you not see the folly in that?????????????????????????????????

Edit...scratch the whole thing about idiocy, OK?  You are a bright guy.  I don't agree with much of what you say although sometimes you are on the same page as me and so you must be pretty intelligent. :)  Are you going to disagree with me that every President since Reagan has been a shameless globalist and that, irrespective of "democrat" or "republican" labels, we have been living under 20 some years of globalist theory?  I think you will agree with that and that it has damaged our country like no foreign war ever could.  Ok...so politicians lie and they misspend our money in any way they can....almost always to buy off a voting base or to sastisfy some other self interest.  So don't you agree that paying the least you can in taxes, registrations, tolls, licenses, permits, user fees, surcharges, etc. is the smartest course of action that any American could take???

Why do you deal in extremes?  Yes, we have police protection, fire protection, sanitation, etc.  Basics.  But why would we allow people to sit home, not even pick up trash on the beach and collect a check?  Why would we allow a school to build an addition and then call that addition ANOTHER SCHOOL and hire another principal, vice principal and a variety of other teachers and administrators with pensions?  Look, we can have government programs for everything...anything, why not bring things back to basics and allow people to have more money, more freedom and more direction over their lives?

And as far as I am concerned, Fargle, I rely on very few government programs, if any, aside from the basics.

By the way, if you do a google search on "republican proposed jobs bills" you find the first result is a Republican proposed Tax cut bill in 2010.

As I said before, since the Republicans took the house, they have not proposed ONE jobs plan.

Good Lord!!!!  But down the bong, man!  That C.I.A. dope you are smoking is getting you all foccaiced in the head.  A tax cut IS A JOBS PROGRAM because it is an incentive to expand.  What you CLEARLY want is some sort of WPA or CCC.  Those didn't work at the time, bub.  What got us out of the doldrums was a world wide conflagaration.  The last thing we need is another WPA, which was often called back then "We Piddle Around".  What we need is for manufacturing to come back and for small and large businesses alike to be incentivized with lower taxes and less red tape.  Let's get something straight, ok?  Jobs are created by YOU (well maybe not you) and ME.

Seriously?  Are you a Glenn beck disciple?

Producers?  Producers of what?  Wealth for themselves?  Nothing wrong with that.  That is what capitalism is all about.  That is what people are supposed to do.  I'm just tired of subsidizing them with a tax break.

Let's just stop drinking the Republican kool aid that top-bracket income earners are some kind of "producers" or "job creators".  They almost never are.

Let me see if I can explain it.

First of all, in almost every instance, individuals do not create jobs, businesses create jobs.
Small businesses right now are creating the most jobs.  Certainly not all.
Only around 5% of small business entrepreneurs are in the top brackets.  WHY?  Because small businesses strive to be big businesses.  Small business don't TAKE that much money OUT of their businesses.  They re-invest it IN the business.

Here is what John Boehner will never understand:
Investing in creating a job is actually a de-facto tax SHELTER.  Always has been. 

The lesson here is:  Top-bracket earners <> "Job creators" or "Producers"
Top-bracket earners are sometimes successful capitalists who have earned their success, but they are rarely "Job Creators", or "Producers".   (And I am sick of subsidizing them)

And NOT subsiding them is actually a free market capitalist idea, not a socialist one.

Status: offline 		Well, considering that republicans, taken as a whole, when you consider that very few actually publicly disagree with some of the most vocal fanatics, are repugnant, fucked up beyond recognition, and totally out of touch with the middle class or lower class in the United States, the term pretty much says it all.

The Republicans have done everything BUT propose a sound jobs bill. They insist on the notion that tax breaks create jobs, which hasn't happened yet. Yet those tax breaks that greatly benefited the wealthiest 2% of the population has impacted the deficit by lowering revenues for the government.

As stated before in this thread, According to Bush, these tax breaks were supposed to ELIMINATE the deficit by 2010. That didn't happen, and finally, what do the republican idiots do? They try to cut every program designed to help the poor and elderly.

The republican idiots in congress have not proposed ONE bill to create jobs.

Status: offline 		I think it is mildly funny that people are under the impression the federal government, and particularly the president, can actually create jobs. The only only impact the federal government has on jobs is the ability to kill them.

This is where so many people misunderstand how taxes and business work.  A tax cut actually is an incentive to CONTRACT and take more money OUT of the business.

I'll try to explain it again:
Personal income taxes are NOT business taxes.  Even if you file them on the same return.

It's really simple:  Business owners create jobs when the BUSINESS warrants it.  NOT by the marginal tax rates on their PERSONAL income taxes.

Money that stays IN the business (i.e. creating jobs is SHELTERED from PERSONAL income tax).

The tax cuts for "job creators" idea is illogical and has been a complete failure throughout history.  Just look at the job numbers.

Unless you want to discuss the scope of spending on an individual state level.

Corporations don't produce.  They skim off the labour of everyone else, avoid taxation, then magically disappear and reform whenever they lose money.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise that that kind of system is unsustainable.  When a corporation dips out on its responsibilities, it's the public who pays.  When a corporation pollutes, it's the public who suffers.  When a corporation goes broke, its members reform into another corporation and continue the ineptitude that sent the first corporation broke.

Apologists for corporate America are just scumbags who want to leech off an unsuspecting public.  I say if your corporation goes broke, we shoot you.  See what that does to the performance, ethics and financial management in Corporate America.

I actually started out typing a useful post that involved republican economic ideals and various examples of role conflict in the american political system but then realized it would fall on deaf ears more intent on loudly proclaiming their 'truth'. So screw it, I have chicken fingers instead.
