for all you qualifications you seem to be having a lot of trouble comprehending real people

Differing opinions, do not mean difficulty comprehending- they mean lack of agreement.

O.K. My first Degree is Biochemistry from Nottingham U.K.
My Second is from University of London and I have done successful research at two others.
I did mine in the days when qualifications meant something.

BA, MA, PhD, my BA is from Trinity, Ireland, PhD Ludwig Maximillian University Munich, all rather "unknown" places with obviously zero reputation

Nationally and internationally published and yes, some people here have seen my work...

I did mine in countries where you have to be accepted into universities instead of buying your way into it, maybe that's why they all rank quite high?

Considering that English is my 3rd language, I think I'm doing alright...

PhilSlave -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/26/2011 8:10:27 AM)

You are doing alright; however, I had a full scholarship to my first Uni because I came from a state comprehensive. I am also published and never bothered with an MA because I jumped straight to qualifications beyond it and yes they match your highest. I admire your languages skills, I only speak one; however, i'm sure if the rest of the world didn't speak mine I would have bothered to learn others.

Another serious question: should I start a thread about it?

My serious answer: no. Bloodbath waiting to happen.

Personally, I'm against deliberately providing a platform for supremacists of either gender to talk about why they're right. That's what it would turn into.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/26/2011 9:13:34 AM)

Beat me to it LadyC.  If they're demanders, leeches or beggars, doesn't really matter if someone is silly enough to pay them money or tribute or whatever you want to call it.  The person sending money to a complete stranger is acting in a behindular manner and deserves what they get.  Unless that's their fetish, then whatever floats their boat.  Just don't come on here and whine about it, you were stupid enough to empty your wallet or give up your paycheck, then suck it up buttercup.  We're all supposed to be adults here, then act like it.

Money dommes merely prey on people with a sexually aggressive begging tactic and take advantage of people who are probably in a bad way emotionally or mentally.

I understand now, he's very worried of being a target ;)

Well technically, if they ignore the red warning saying "do not send money to another user" they probably are having a problem somewhere. Not sure if it's mental or they are so hard up to get someone to notice their dick that they throw caution to the wind.

Why are so many male self-identified slaves also male supremacists?

Must admit, I hadn't noticed that phenomenon. But, yes, I've seen some bitter and angry misogyny amongst a certain type of submale.

So am I. And, personally, I think the recent threads on 'Do you feel contempt for X' violate TOS. We're warned not to trample on peoples' kinks, here. Yet if the kink is of a very generic nature (like that of a man wanting to submit to a woman), that somehow makes it an OK thing about which to express one's contempt.

A structural misogyny.  Not a philosophy per se, but anger against and disgust with women, not just prodommes or findommes or lifestyle dommes who don't return emails.

Which is what it all boils down to. Oy...

Red and Peon, that does explain A LOT, never looked at it from that angle, I always wondered why people get upset about a kink that isn't their kink, nobody forces it on you, if 2 people enjoy it, more power to them, if it doesn't float my boat, I move on. Personally I don't get FT or FD and a couple of other things, but why would I want to make a post about something I don't plan to take part in?

PS: Stay tuned, I guess it will be at least 2 or 3 days until somebody comes up with another thread about why FDs are evil...

Lady C, you better than most know about that kind of misogyny.

Which is possibly the reason why I try to block it out... But hey, there was a rather interesting article about why a certain type of self-appointed sub needs to look down on the woman who dominates him, I think it all boiled down that the guys couldn't deal with their own fantasies and had serious issues... A bit like those violent gay bashers, who often happen to be closet queens...

'Structural misogyny'? When did you swallow a sociology textbook? [;)]

But I agree. I bet we'd also agree where it comes from, too.

Here is (part of) my story:

When I was a tiny boy, I used to believe that females were the more desirable sex, in all ways. That was partly because I desired them (natch, I was and am a het male) but partly because I had three brothers and my mother, especially, kept ranting about how she wanted a girl. When she was angry and argued with my father, she'd frequently shout, 'I never wanted four boys'. So I was bitter - jealous of girls, jealous of all that I thought they were and what they seemed, without trying, to be given.

And then I grew up and, in so doing, I began to realise that though I might think females are 'goddesses', they themselves usually didn't think that about themselves. Quite the opposite, and then some, in most cases. But, I'll freely admit: I didn't get past a lot of it till I was beyond age 25.

I'm suddenly extremely attracted to you. What subject are your degrees in? If it's some complicated form of science I will just melt. [:D]

Yes, quite right! Darn the CM archives for making you be accountable for your own words!

And probably darn me for quoting you here too, so everyone can see what you said instead of you just being able to erase it, huh?

Ha ha ha, a kinky friend of mine asked about my thesis, after telling him the title he asked "Am I being punished?" Unless you're very interested in how languages evolve and are applied, it's not the greatest conversation starter. On the funny side, I always had an easy time understanding and reading computer languages, never figured how that worked since maths was always something I tolerated but actually had to work pretty hard at to get good grades, until somebody pointed out that a computer language is basically a language and growing up bilingual, I have an easy time decoding without even realizing it. Should have kept at it, really, possibly more money in computer science than in languages...
