And, yes, rereading it, I can see how its confusing.

The war I speak of is with the largest, and most powerful, voting block in this country... the Baby Boomers... 80 million strong. The Republicans are bringing that war to their doorsteps... politically its suicide.

I am in no way suggesting the Democrats have it all correct. There are many problems with the health care law that has nothing to do with death panels or increase cost.

From the 2008 election...

The popular vote was 69,456,897 to 59,934,814, respectively

Its widely believed, and I cannot prove otherwise, that the Boomer generation had alot to do with the 2010 tide that hit congress. They will feel betrayed by the current bills being presented by Republicans. And rightly so considering how many of those bills have taken a direct aim against their own population segment.

This is the war I am referring too.

There was very little that was real with the fanatic anti-Bush "peace movement"

What you had were were leftist political operatives using the "peace movement" title for purely political purposes

A fact that has become abundantly clear, especially considering the developments weve witnessed in the past couple of  months

I know it's just bugging the hell out of you that as you were trying to make an issue of the War Powers Act running out an agreement from Congress just popped out of the air.

Almost like Obama already knew it was going to happen.

You are trying to claim that the reason that "antiwar" leftists who were absolutely apoplectic during the Bush years have fallen silent now about Libya, and the continuing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the invasion of Pakistan to kill OBL, and the fact that GITMO is still open, and the supposedly inhumane treatment of Private whats-his-name who facilitated the Wikileaks scandal, and Obama autopenning the Patriot Act...

Etc  etc etc...

Is because McCain and Kerry are pushing said resolution.

That sounds slightly less crazy, I suppose

Actually, neither obama or hillary voted for the original patriot act, but Hillary did vote to authorize force in Iraq, which is a larger issue for me politically speaking. In light of the "bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran" guy, Obama seemed much better...

The Patriot Act was the reason I supported Dennis Kucinich in the primaries....

Personally,

I never had problem with Afghanistan,  The only issue I had was the lack of a real plan.  With the focus back on Afghanistan that has gotten better but not great.

Iraq had bad ideal written all over it from the start.  It only got worse form there.

Libya I thought we should have stayed out of.  Why Libya?  Do we now jump and help anybody who revolts against a leader we don't like?

GITMO is just a mess.  Where to hold the prisoners  has been a major hold up.  I may not like it being open but how to deal with the mess is just a problem that I can wait to see dealt with.

The Patriot Act?   I was never a huge fan nor did I think the sky was falling because of it.  It has been around long enough that the resigning is not goign to create the same protest it once did.

Manning, please.  I am supposed to get upset because the little traitor had to sleep naked or is in solitary?

Shrugs,  I guess some of us don't have an understanding what the meaning of "everybody" is..

When you brag about being able to kill yourself with the elastic from your underwear, naked it how you are going to be.

The kid was being a smart ass... the result was based upon that. If he had even attempted to go through with his "joking" threat, the uproar would have been just as deafening.
