ORIGINAL: tazzygirl A horse can be trained one of two ways. It can be broken, very much like a woman can be broken, and all you are left with is a horse that is resentful, but obeys because its better than dealing with the abuse, until that day comes when the horse can break free... and then its gone. Or, you can tame a horse the way so many do, including many of the spanish and the native americans, with tenderness, patience, kindness and firmness. Winning over the trust of the horse until the horse and the man, or woman, become one. This is the horse that serves out of loyalty and adoration, one who can roam off for miles, and still respond to a whistle. There are many ways to train. Surprisingly enough, women can train in both methods just as easily as men. Interesting and what is the whip for in taming or any other taming techniques that use 'patience, kindness and firmness' in circus horses from Spain etc? OMG! Yeah like they will "beat" the lions with the whip and the lions are so afraid that they do what they are told... Nothing to do with training, just with fear (in which crazy world do you live - oops I already know - found anybody yet?) OK, obviously you've never had anything to do with horses, the whip is for show and commands, have you EVER seen anybody whipping a horse? I have seen it once, and luckily the guy who owned the stable was at the guy who tried to whip the horse before we were, he was dealing with the RSPCA and banned...
