For the past four years, I have worked each April through September for a company that gives historic walking tours of the Boston Freedom Trail. I have studied in great detail, among others, Paul Revere. At the risk of being immodest, I think I know as much as anyone living today can know about what happened that night. If after Palin screwed up the story, she had come out and said, "I'm sorry, I got the story wrong and was misinformed", there would have been no need for any threads like this. But instead she gives an subsequent interview in which she basically said, "I was right - and all the history books, and all the historians and Paul Revere himself, in his own account that he wrote of the event, were wrong". And that stupidity and, frankly, bull-headedness merits a thread such as this.
