MSLA is the same on every thread...

Yes, I demand people show PROOF for their allegations -- which you don't like, because you never have any. [8|]

Did someone say sanitylite earlier ? The themes seems familiar ...demand one level of proof...deny it has been met when it clearly has....get snippy and move the goalposts...lol
Fuck it,I know there is a theme of racism running thru the Republican party...you know it,most thinking people know it,and most important the voting portion of the African American community knows it ...to the tune of 93%(a number she had no response for)...it isn't important to me that this knucklehead gets it,or admits it....life is too short to worry aout those that deep in de nile.

I see you offered no poof... which is your admission there is no proof of "Structural or Institutional Racism" in the party -- i.e., that there are PROVEN structural elements that are put in place to ENSURE minorities are prevented from advancement.

Go ahead... prove it?!!  You can't.

And then there was the thread jackings that were attempted earlier, the deflections, the distractions,..etc etc etc.

Here is the thing, I am glad I argued the point with MSLA. I think that much was accomplished on this thread with educational merit. It is not every day that structural and institutional racism gets articulated in the way it was here with Tazzy and me both giving examples of its existence.

Hopefully lots of people got as much out of this thread as I did.

Just another one of your partisan lies.

The debate at hand is that some here have alleged the Republican Party is "Structurally Racist" -- i.e., there are elements put in place to ENSURE minorities are prevented from advancement... not whether there are racist INDIVIDUALS that also happen to be Democrats or Republicans.

Thus, I've asked those to provide their definitive proof of said alleged "Structural Racism", and they haven't... they only provide either (i) one person's opinion (the one referenced in the OP), or (ii) Michael Steele who's said the RNC needs more reach-out to African Americans.  That's NOT proof of "Structural Racism"... not in any way, shape, or form.

Bullshit, you are trying to move the goalposts here...no one is claiming that the Republican Party is running there own little version of apartheid...What is being asserted is that in tone and in fact the Republican platform has a subtle, yet ressonating theme of racism imbedded in it's DNA.....whether or not you believe that is unimportant...the fact is the black community believes that very fact...hence the 93% voting bloc that is delivered to the democrats election after election.
The question is what will the Republican Party do about it.....early indications seem to be that rather than address this issue...they have decided to woo the Hispanic vote...why the he'll not...they can offer the same old fear of black, just tweak it a little to appeal to brown...instead of just white.

MasterSlaveLA -> RE: Black Repub Ken Barnes Wakes Up... (6/15/2011 6:25:38 PM)

Bullshit... the "goal posts" have been the same... and not you or anyone else has provided any proof.  Period.

Here's the proof...

quote:

ORIGINAL: juliaoceania

You are still not dealing with the opening post though... which is about structural racism in the republican party....

Absolutely NO PROOF has been provided to show that there are structural elements put in place to ENSURE minorities are prevented from advancement.  Just partisan lies.

They have already begun to alienate the Hispanic vote with not only the immigration hysteria, the support of laws in Arizona that favor racial profiling, but the Republicans also are losing traction with labor issues. Hispanic voters care about labor very much.

The ways in which they were attempting to capitalize on social issues to win the Hispanic vote were on issues of gay marriage, abortion, and other socially conservative issues. But personally I think they chased Hispanics away with their very anti Mexican message from the last election cycle

slvemike4u -> RE: Black Repub Ken Barnes Wakes Up... (6/15/2011 6:30:29 PM)

Well therein lies their issue Julia..they can see the demographics....they are not stupid, yet they must cater to their base...so they walk a tightrope..and you are right, there wooing of the Hispanic vote seems to be stillborn, hung up as it were over the need to placate the radiate in their midst over the immigration question.
What they have done is paint themselves in a corner....so they attack voter registration drives.....has anyone ever seen a political party so afraid of actually having people vote.....specially "new" people.....lol

The thing is, Mexican people are not stupid and Black people are not stupid, and they know which party is less friendly to their skin color.

The immigration issue is based on race. It is obvious in the ads that were out last election cycle that this was true...

Look at Sharron Angle's ad..

More examples of structural racism here.

slvemike4u -> RE: Black Repub Ken Barnes Wakes Up... (6/15/2011 6:40:25 PM)

It has as much to do with white fear...they know what they are doing here, but the changing demographics work against them. How do they spin on the dime and, when eventually they need to court folks of color ..do they accomplish this. For the
life of me I don't see how they do that...as you say people of color are not stupid. If you have run election after election by appealing to white fear...how do you get me to vote for you...when you finally realize you need me(not that I am a voter of color ...I wouldn't want to confuse the dense amongst us....lol)

Well Bush did a lot to woo Hispanic voters, parading his Hispanic family members around, especially the hot one... His nephew pictured here.

That good will was soon squandered because of those in the media, like Louis Dobbs, who profitted on drumming up fear.

It really is fear of other that drives many voters in the Republican party, and they have been able to capitalize on that fear, but like you said, they know the numbers... which is why they try to keep voters from voting

Everyone knows low voter turnout favors republicans.... because republicans are not representative of the country by and large

slvemike4u -> RE: Black Repub Ken Barnes Wakes Up... (6/15/2011 6:54:09 PM)

That just hit the nail on the head...it is a tried and true adage...low voter turnout always favors the republican candidate.....democrats want people to vote, republicans fear people from exercising their franchise.
Something is wrong with a political party that fears people actually voting.....lol.Dysfunctional is a good word.

juliaoceania -> RE: Black Repub Ken Barnes Wakes Up... (6/15/2011 6:59:31 PM)

I am enjoying showing ways that republicans utilize the media to distribute racially charged messages that they know their White constituents "get".. many examples[:D]

It shows more structural racism....

Lucylastic -> RE: Black Repub Ken Barnes Wakes Up... (6/15/2011 7:05:22 PM)

The best revenge on these morons is to work towards getting dems out to vote,
If that is true, then you guys have to do some encouragement.
Fear and terror seems to me the republican way and while I dont think dems should go near the dont retreat reload memes n such, but the dangers to the regular working class joe is severe.

Mini-sanity. Like "Mini-Me." An intellectual dwarf who just doesn't measure up. >snort<

Owner59 -> RE: Black Repub Ken Barnes Wakes Up... (6/15/2011 7:13:04 PM)

shrub did well with Hispanics. He really did try to earn their votes. And did well with that demographic.

Illegal immigration doubled under bush`s watch(nap) tho and he got a lot of bashing by the minute-man types.

It`s been down hill since then.Especially with the extreme shit over illegals.
