Lol,I must have did something...hit some button or other...but hippies last post was "hidden".... I have yet to actualy put any poster on ignore,but somehow I put Hippie on ignore...a perfectly rational poster And I gave him the dreaded ignore button...easily fixed though.

I keep saying it and saying it,the Tea Party is as dangerous to this version of the Republican Party as the religious right was to Reagans Republican Party....it will energize and invigorate for a cycle or two...but in the end it will cost the party election after election.Catering to the fringe is never a good idea....much like the party found the religious right driving the bus...they will soon wake up and find that folks like Palin and Bacmann are actual power players in their party...all because of the sway they hold with the wing nuts of the tea party.

Well you do realize that if the Tea party revolution had occurred 50 years ago, we wouldn't be $14 trillion in debt right now, with over 9% official unemployment, 16% black unemployment, and we wouldn't have an Immigration problem that threatens to turn English speaking Americans into a minority group in their own land.

Ross Perot tried to turn things around for this country back in the 90's, and while half the republicans voted for him, democrats refused to abandon their candidate for a real political revolution. It's the same old story. Democrats have no solutions to problems. Their only answer for everything is spend more money, find new sources of revenue, and legalize anything that is illegal so they can pretend it is no longer a problem. For example, Obama's answer to create jobs is to give free educations and graduate 10,000 more engineers each year. Well we already have 10,000 engineers graduating each year that can't find jobs. Obama is so full of shit, I'll bet he wears a diaper in between dumps.

I thought the relevant part of his post was the bullshit about English speakers becoming minorities in their own land.Very telling that bit of fear. I myself have absolutely no fear of being misunderstood,certainly not to a language barrier.....lol.

A thread I started several months ago had to do with Terror Management, which is how people cope with the inevitable end, and not Tom Ridge's color-coded fear-mongering. There seems to be a strong correlation between cognitive dissonance, terror-management strategies, and political affiliation. IMO, maladaptive coping strategies include the need to believe in an afterlife, as well as "conservative" political beliefs. It leads to the demonization of Jews, Blacks, Native Americans, Chinese, even to the point of despising "garlic eaters" (a line in "It's a Wonderful Life"). I think the concept, in Psychology, of Terror Management has much to commend it.
