I do love the hating; it is absolutely fascinating. More concerning, it seems a good number of people are unaware that astrology is a pseudoscience incompatible with intellectual discourse. Sadly, I suspect there are numerous people on here who think creationism is also compatible with intellectual discourse. This was great fun. By the way IrishLass, who is hanging out with supermodels who are on collarme (that was really funny), I would say any man who demands pornographic photos thirty seconds after communicating is not serious about finding a woman in this lifestyle, but is looking for a cheap thrill. Alas snarkiness is a poor substitute for seriousness.

That's what you think, though quite a lot of people that are quite intelligent are interested in astrology, though from somebody who's on such a high horse regarding what is compatible with intellectual discourse, I would not have expected such a blatantly false statement that pounds are the same everywhere... As stated before the UK and US pound is quite different from the standard European pound, it does matter if you get 0.45 or 0.5 kilos.

Well, I hate to get caught in the line of fire, but why has this thread taken such a personal turn? Just because someone posts something that ”you already know" does not mean that it should be construed as a personal attack. He is entitled to his opinion, although some of his later posts indicate that he is trying to be provocative. And it is working.

semisweet...

folks TRIED to be nice, and point out that he was doing what so many newbies do.  Preach to the choir.

Then he got all pseudo on us.

Hell, I've even been mostly nice for much of this, and you can ask the Mods (or any other regular) abotu that.

Personally, I think he's gotten off pretty friggin lightly, given the "I am your saviour" flavor of his op.

He isn't posting things I already know. He is posting things I know to be untrue. I agree with you that the main flow of the thread is whacked, but I do see a few people pointing out that he is presenting falsehoods as truths.

Okay all, I am done and it was great fun. The list was, of course, meant both humorously and seriously. The things I mentioned are very real warnings and I understand why fakes would not want them out there, but it was submitted in good humor and I expected to generate few comments as some of them are obvious. I am admittedly surprised that things that are so obvious generated a great amount of disagreement, but it is interesting in itself to see a post be savaged for being both very obvious and very wrong. It is perhaps a comment on the sad state of our culture that the desire to tear down is so strong and that so many people use what could be a useful forum and meeting place for people into what is certainly a minority lifestyle into a site mostly of scammers, pornographers and fakes. It would seem that those seriously into our way of living should be the most concerned with these issues.
Good luck to all in finding happiness.

No snark here:
Patrick,
I don't suppose that it had occurred to you that someone might list astrology in their list of live fors simply because it is silly and fun (to some people)?... or perhaps in their haste in filling out their profile they simply misread it and meant astronomy?

We are complex human beings full of wondrous dichotomies.
By listing us you might miss that.

It is certainly refreshing to see someone here who uses his big head instead of writing a petulant tantrum filled post about how we are all fakes after a bit of disillusionment after [quite often] he has been here for 3 whole days and is feeling rejected and impatient.

No its because it was done under false pretenses with an ulterior motive.

Hat-Trick Patrick's goal was to impress and astound everyone with his amassing inside in being about to spot fakes and we were supposed to bow down in aw and worship is huge brain.

It didn't work because we all smarter than a 5th grader and can spot fakes, and pretentious pretenders a mile off. And mostly these guys are just ticked that he tried to decive everyone with stupidity. Something Collarchat users don't seem to stand for.

Well I guess it was well-intentioned.

Have you had a chance to reflect on the feedback that your list might be a little bit, well, shit?

Patrick, you included some things that were obviously true, and others that were obviously false. Some people ran with one, some with the other. Divergence in crowdsourcing does not mean that individuals are wrong.

If you ever do meet women off the kinky internet, you will come to realize that your opening post is a bit sophomoric. I'm ok with people who don't know stuff. There are certainly many things I don't know that other posters here do. It is your belief that your ignorance is factual and should be transmitted to help others that concerns me.

OK, let's put this in some other context then to clear it up. Let's assume that I am attending a conference on particle physics. Attending the conference are a ton of Nobel laureates, published PHD's, and generally "big brains". Now, I'm not one such. I just got in because my wife is attending. At the lunch break, I walk up to a group of people discussing some arcane topic and start to pontificate on F=ma.

Now, don't you think that pretty much everyone else in the room is going to be thinking I"m an asshat? We don't think it's a personal attack. We think it's stupid and pretentious.

LOL basically he calls us all fakes and claims only he is serious about the "lifestyle" and is running off.

Very typical internet Forum Fake 101.....

I would discuss particle physics with you or your wife, cuz I am an asshat that way.

But I am a somewhat educated naif on the subject.

LOL.

Just had to get that in there, your point was plain, and correct.

Obviously it's our fault that we didn't hail you as the 2nd coming of the BDSM savior and now you're having a little huff because we don't need your precious list...

I think it's a very sad state of our culture if teachers do really not know that pounds are different in different countries but is eager to label somebody as a fake who makes the simple mistake of giving the weight in kilos but not ticking the box kilos... Yup, you are so unlighted and you want to save us from scammers, pornographers and fakes? You did notice that CM has this big writing in red letters that says "Do not send money to other users for any reason"? Think that might actually help?

Oh and how about this link:

http://www.collarme.com/personals/scammers.htm

Hmmm, they didn't consult you on it? What a shame!

I missed an error earlier, the statement that there were no models with profiles on CM, which I would like to correct.

There are quite a few women with profiles on CM (and Fet for that matter) who also have profiles on ModelMayhem, and are either pro or semi-pro, sometimes in fetish and adult genre, sometimes not. If yes, and they are potentially looking for a kinky sugardaddy, they post professional photos here and on sugardaddy sites. If not, they definitely are not going to put up a pic on this site. I have mentioned this before, elsewhere, but it bears repeating here: perhaps the most mainstream-attractive women I have dated off CM did not post photos. They were looking for a mental connection.

On the other hand, models tend to use Fet as a kinky ModelMayhem or LinkedIn, to network with photogs and others industry contacts.
