no, they're part of the same entity; i.e. Fox News Network, LLC.
they're not generating any original opinion content, nor is there a writer associated, so it's not a blog. it's a re-branding of other people's articles.

(how many times has this stuff been said? good grief.)

tazzygirl -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 4:15:41 PM)

This article is about the news website. For the Fox Native American nation, see Meskwaki.

Fox Nation is a conservative[1] news website operated by the Fox News Channel that began operation on March 30, 2009.

According to Fox News, "Fox Nation will be a forum for Americans to speak out on important and controversial issues, and to act on their beliefs and values — while always upholding the traditional American ideals of free speech, fair play, and tolerance... at FOX Nation, the American people will be the stars."[2]

The site features news articles, video clips, and links to editorial blogs by noted conservative political commentators like Bill Kristol and Charles Krauthammer, as well as liberal political commentators, like Susan Estrich. In keeping with the site's premise, viewers are invited to post comments about the various topics featured on Fox Nation, which Fox News described as "a new community where all Americans are encouraged to share, discuss, and debate."[2]

Im now done with this topic. [;)]

The same reason people posting news articles here change the headlines, they are reposts.

Look at it this way, Collarchat thread structure is kind of similar in format structure as Fox Nation. Someone thinks a story is interesting, and they post snippets of it, and they create their own headline, and people comment on it

But it isnt the news, nor is it meant to be

Right but in this case the "someone" who thinks a story is interesting is an employee of Fox News, working on that corporation's behalf, reposting an entire article for people to comment on.

Do you think the headlines posted in the community section of the Fox News website are designed to be inflammatory?

Sanity -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 4:17:31 PM)

Oh, they have a tab... [:D]

Linking to he commentary / blog section found on Fox Nation.

Kind of like CNN has commentary.

Kind of like MSNBC and CBS and ABC and the New York Times has a commentary section...

nuff said.

Sanity -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 4:20:40 PM)

They have liberals there too, but youre losing sight of the point.

Its not FOX NEWS, regardless of who is posting the content, its a separate section meant for commentary, and not meant as a hard news portion of the site.

The offical commentary on that section of the site is clearly marked as "Op-ed"

The community commentary is located in the comments section.

We're talking about the news articles that are posted with inflammatory headlines.

It's a section meant for community commentary.

I don't care if they "have liberals there" or not, I'm wondering why they post such interesting headlines to the news articles that they want people to comment on. Is that the sort of community the Fox News corporation wants to foster?

Sanity -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 4:28:09 PM)

So are you saying that you would officially like to move the goalposts now?

imperatrixx -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 4:34:28 PM)

Yeah I don't know what's up with that.

I mean if I wanted to get nit picky I could say that the way he spells the main news program, FOX NEWS, is not how it was spelled in the post I linked (where it was "Fox News") so you could assume that "Fox News" is the corporation and "FOX NEWS" is the main portion of the website.

Really though all I can say is that the news articles posted with ridiculous headlines have a "Fox News" copyright.

Sanity -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox Nation headlines (6/27/2011 4:39:05 PM)

The point is that your OP source photoshopped the blog posts that it presented as FOX NEWS articles, it cut out the Fox Nation banner in order to mislead everyone reading it

In other words, the point is that your OP was a lie. And now if you want to discuss the appropriateness of certain commentary on a commentary portion of FOX NEWS website, why not start a new thread

Look at how you titled your thread, it should read Real headlines vs Fox Nation headlines, shouldnt it

In other words its you and buzzcut.com who are actually guilty of doing what you and they are claiming, as a part of a lie on your and their part, that FOX NEWS is doing

No, I don't want to discuss the appropriateness of certain commentary. I want to discuss the appropriateness of posting factual news articles with sensational headlines.

I don't know if you just don't understand that or if you're purposely trying to be dense. But to me you seem like one of those people who enjoys gleefully arguing on the internet more than discussing things. So I really don't see a point in talking to you anymore.

I'm sure you're going to sit there smiling after you read that I have no desire to continue this conversation with someone who is unable to grasp basic concepts, convinced that you "won" or that you "outsmarted" me by continuing to repeat misinformation, so go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back you sad old bastard.

I know someone who posts on the internet like you. He sits there grinning, thinking he's really smart, and that his wit and intellect have confounded everyone he's talking to, but when I read whatever thread he's so proud of I just see a bunch of people fed up with a guy acting like an idiot.

Anyway just in case you think you "won" I'll just repeat - Fox News is reposting news articles with sensational headlines. They are not blogs, opinion pieces, or commentary. The "commentary" is the fact that the news articles are open to reader comments.

Have a nice day.

Again...

Fox Nation isnt meant to be news, any more that the Maddow show or the Chris "Tingles" Mathews show is

Or the Obermann show was

Or the New York Times opinion pages are

Its opinion, much of it is satire

Though admittedly Ive never even paid it much attention until you posted your ridiculous OP

Tell you what

If you dont like free speech, dont look

Satire ? Since when has publishing falsehoods been satire ? If it seems like a lie and sounds like a lie, it`s a lie.

Lucylastic -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 5:18:41 PM)

They are not blogs,. They are reposted news articles, using the original story but their own headlines and indicating the stories are from the writers.. Blogs 99.999999999% of the time have their writers names. Fox nation isnt using bloggers
You are trying to deny the damned obvious....

imperatrixx -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 5:27:44 PM)

Exactly. This is a blog:
http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/06/27/obama-administration-make-calls-set-fake-doctors-appointments

Lucylastic -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 5:36:15 PM)

oh and the opinion page
is
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/index.html
They are using their own headlines with a RESPECTABLE Article.when are you going to get that?
Oh and photoshopping something means removing or adding data.
Their screen cap cut off the top part, maybe simply to get the whole article (written by another news co writer) into the screen shot, like I had to earlier, early, very simple...nothing underhanded about it.
Except to you

Now I done with the thread too because saying it is a blog is a simple lie

Sanity -> RE: Real headlines vs Fox News headlines (6/27/2011 6:23:31 PM)

The only lie is the OP
