No, it doesn't say anything like that at all.

The "Gun Show Loophole" is just anti gun talking point BS.

The loophole as it's referred to is the simple fact that one person can sell or transfer a gun to another person without a background check. This occurs at gun shows, among friends, through newspaper ads or trading publication ads, at flea markets and swap meets, from parents to offspring as well as other means.

  All dealers at any location including gun shows must conduct background checks.  If it comes down to background checks for individuals transfering their firearms to each other it would amount to registration which opens up a whole new can of worms.

Ruger semiautomatic pistols have safeties. 



It's a model I only became recently aware of and I think fairly new. I looked at one next to a Kel-Tec. The ruger was only slightly bigger and like the Kel-Tec is double action only I think.

The same way you manage to keep your house from burning down even though you don't keep fire extinguishers handy.

Of course you follow common sense when it comes to fire safety but you never know when some freak accident might happen with the wiring and such, then ya reach for that extinguisher and it's not there, your house is dead.

Bringing a concealed loaded weapon into a legislature either says something about the legislature or something about the person who does it. Which is it?

My reaction is that neither option suggests a person/people I'd like to have making the laws that govern my life.

I think you're implying she might have reason to defend or offend other legislators with her gun.

I don't think it says that at all about the legislator or the legislature. Unless that's not what you're saying, if not, what are you saying it is that it says ?

Very true. Unfortunately morons generally do not believe they are morons and the greater percentage of people that feel they need to own handguns to be safe, are in fact, morons.

I adore my mother-in-law and her husband but they are of the mindset that they feel they need to own a hand gun to be safe. This is a relatively new development. I do not understand WHY they suddenly feel the need. It is not as though the crime rate in their part of Minnesota has increased. She feels, that because she took a gun safety course, she is now ultimately qualified to carry a hand gun. Her son knows otherwise and told her so. Truth be told, very very few people are ultimately qualified to carry a handgun.

Based upon the people I've known that feel a need to carry a handgun, that are not in law enforcement, it is a direct reflection of their own feelings of inadequacy and helplessness. I venture to say that, when faced if ever, with a direct need to use said hand gun, they would fall apart and be unable. OR......it would not get used responsibly and end in disaster.

I am convinced that, after a few or more tragic accidents due to the above moron descriptions, the gun laws pendulum will swing more the other direction. And all the people that will be screaming bloody murder about it........too bad.

So are you the type of guy who leaves piles of oily rags lying around or maybe too many gas cans in the garage ?  I wouldn't be too paranoid about that or even standing in a puddle of water while you're operating a power tool.  Forget the fire extinguisher too, after all it could never happen to you.

Not at all, I'm very safety conscious.

I have my own bomb shelter and I'm looking into a satellite defense system.

You can never be too careful!
