i gave my dog a bath the other day; normally he tries to hop back out of the tub but this time he didn't. when i would ask him "do you want a bath?" he'd give me the same head tilty "omgz yes!" look he gives if i ask him if he wants food or if he wants to go out. =p i guess he figured he needed one, too. haha

All I have to do is say wanna bath? and Charlie runs and jumps in the tub and starts wagging his tail. Thank gawd, if I had to wrassle him, he would win!

*zucht* Kids and Dogs... awww

impishlilhellcat -> RE: Why the hell dont we ever talk about dogs? (7/27/2011 5:27:31 PM)

My two have just come in from the rain and waited patiently while I riffled through the dryer for the dog towel. They know that they must be dried off before they can get on the furniture mostly because they will rub their little hairy bodies all over the couch, the bed, and my pillow trying to dry themselves off.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Why the hell dont we ever talk about dogs? (7/27/2011 8:37:49 PM)

I remember when Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog finally decided that being dried off was the best part of the walk. He'd come in & sit while I unhooked his leash & grin while I got the towel & then let me rub him all over while he got all excited & wiggled & wagged. Then he would take off & run through the house & come back for more towel rubs. Gawd, I miss that little tyke.

Daisy my lil jack/beagle mix prefers her towel warm from the dryer.....Lol She thinks it's fantastic too and her lil butt is always wigglin.

Gaia hates rain...
If we ever walk in the rain, she wants to go back in a hurry.

But she likes to swim....[&:]

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Why the hell dont we ever talk about dogs? (7/28/2011 10:56:12 AM)

Spike the Amazing Wonder Dog didn't mind walking in the rain, but he really hated stepping in puddles. They are such odd & wonderful creatures, aren't they???

myotherself -> RE: Why the hell dont we ever talk about dogs? (7/28/2011 11:11:54 AM)

my bichon is addicted to carrots. Seriously.

She would eat pounds of them every day, if allowed. My vet had to do some research on the effects of carrot on the canine constitution (see what I did there?), and has advised that my strange mutt is limited to 2 carrots a day.

I doubt you'd ever get this kind of medical/dietary dilemma with cats [:D]

Good to know! Cause my aussie will eat anything bananas, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes.........

LaTigresse -> RE: Why the hell dont we ever talk about dogs? (7/28/2011 11:21:39 AM)

I have one dog that will literally eat ANYTHING. Even things that are supposed to cause pain upon moment of attempted ingestion. I have spent more time, frantically searching online to see if something she just ate is going to send us to the vet ASAP, than with all of my other pets combined.

The other day it was seed heads of day lilies. I am happy to inform that they are toxic to cats but not dogs. They do however cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs. Which I am sure, thrills you all, to read...[:D]

myotherself -> RE: Why the hell dont we ever talk about dogs? (7/28/2011 11:29:25 AM)

the bichon will eat anything. I dropped a bowl of pickled gherkins...gone in seconds. Ditto for raw garlic, onion...fox poop...[:'(]

The worst was when we used to walk in an area that had really long, tough wild grass. The mutt would eat loads of it, and it would go through her system. However, it was so tough it wouldn't break down. At the other end, the poo came out stuck to this long grass, a bit like a poo necklace.

Anyway, the poo would come out, but the grass would still be in there. She'd be walking around leading this poo on it's own herbal leash, hanging from her butt. I used to have to grab a polythene bag, but it over my hand and pull out the last 4 or 5 inches of grass.

Damn...the things we do for our mutts...*gags*
