none of what any of us say on here is of any real importance. it doesn't fucking matter. these aren't doctoral theses we're doing here, they're forum posts.

Aswad wrote a post once which caused me to go searching for further information which lead to a lightbulb going off in my head and caused a fundamental change in my outlook in a particular area and answered a 'why' question I had held for close to 20 years. I am grateful for the post he made, the discovery which I made and that there was a venue here for the discussion to take place.

You have nothing to say of any real importance on the forums yet, you wrote a post, I think it was yesterday but may have been the day before that also caused me to rethink a stance I had held for a while.

Kind of ironic that I got something important out of what you said but your paradigm is so narrow that you wouldn't even be able to acknowledge it as such.

What a waste. What a pity.

Sorry to see you go, LNT.  Your contributions were always very well thought out. You will be missed.

I hope to see you return at some point.  But if you choose not to do so, then I wish you well.

I love Focus.

The "new" cm people clogging up the forums with their mish mash amongst their fave adjective, as Focus stated is so deadening. I dont know you LnT but I hope things work out the way you want.

Cm come back, come back wherever you are!

Honestly it is not the site that sucks at all. Not at all. This is a very cool place.

I've seen it happen on a few other (non-BDSM) boards in my time, and recognise the symptoms. To be fair, CM forums have been declining for a while, and these are just the death throes.
Perhaps you should consider the common denominator in these dying forums....

Look, I've been here pretty much as long as anybody, and I don't see things as any worse than they ever were, in fact they have picked up lately and gotten far more entertaining. There will always be people bemoaning change, or the fact that somebody new comes along who is more entertaining or insightful. That's life, I personally wouldn't be here if it were simply a stagnant board with the same old people saying the same old things in response to the same old questions, that's why I avoid the P&R section these days.

I'm always happy to see new blood, new approaches, and new ideas. I don't want the old CM to come back, I was here when it was, it was great, I enjoyed it, now lets move on. I look forward to what CM becomes, whatever that may be.

I gather a thread went away, and LnT took exception to it, since she had made her typically solid and well thought out contributions. Such is life, sometimes a thread gone wrong cannot be salvaged.

Indeed. I've taken breaks from this place, but it wasn't because of threads being pulled. As you said LadyH, such is life! We move on.

Such is life...so true.

Hey, nice legs.

You have to love the drama queens that announce their intention to leave hoping for an onset of tears & cries of "Don't go"!!  "What happened"!!

Just leave quietly then come back when you're ready, why a whole thread?

Nope, I think that misses the target entirely, VP. LadyNTrainer always was less of a "drama queen" than pretty much any other user of these forums. Even in this thread, though there's been some drama-queening, it hasn't come from LNT.

I'd have to disagree, hon.

Starting a thread announcing your departure is drama. It's not debate, it's not discussion, it doesn't serve any purpose but drama.

Deciding to leave because some of your posts have been deleted is also kind of llama-ish. She's been here for years, and moderation's been patchy and uneven for at least the whole time I've been here - to sit happily and continue to post while other people's posts are randomly deleted and then only decide it's intolerable when it's your posts seems...well. For someone who places such a high premium on honour I don't consider this terribly honourable behaviour.

Not especially.

When it's time for Me to decide to pursue other ventures, I probably will drop a public note to say that I am moving on.  It saves folks from that age old, "I wonder what ever happened to" bit.  It won't be some drama filled thing for Me and it certainly won't be because some incident pissed Me off, or because things on this site didn't go the way that I thought they should.  I'll just be saying thanks for the time and the conversation.

As with everything else on this site, I'll do it whether folks like it or not.

And will you snark about the probability of your thread being deleted, Lady P?

I doubt it.

I kinda have to agree with VC on this one....just because of the apparent (though I am clueless to the particulars.....been busy lately) reasons for the stage right, exit.

I mean, I would appreciate knowing, if LadyP is going to disappear....that she is okay and life just requires her to be MIA. Much like Bita did when she moved (one of her many moves... ) so I am not left wondering and worrying. Because I am like that.

But the drama of this particular situation is rather petulant and childish and, to be honest, behaviour I thought was beneath the OP.

Actually some people might consider it closure and saying good-bye. Just good manners really

Really? Well, I wouldn't be in a position to judge . . . because I didn't witness the debate and everything's now been deleted. Therein, again, lies the problem.

If a long term, regular poster were to leave - one who'd written so many posts of the level of LNT's - then I'd appreciate the 'goodbye' from him or her. I see nothing dramatic in that. Again, the drama on this thread hasn't come from her.

I believe there are opinions, equally as valid, that vary from your own.

I know if I wrote it, in the moment of being all butt hurt, and came back to read it with my normal, rational, mindset.......I would be embarrassed.

I've recently begun suspecting that that might be at least half true.

ETA damn your ETA!:

I seriously could imagine not being embarrassed, and in fact feeling that it's the appropriate and well-mannered thing to do. Especially if I were LNT, in fact.
