It's also how candidates get on the ballot, Rodg.

Ken, thanks again for showing off that authoritarian streak, so potent in the left.  Keep up he good work.

It's not authoritarioan liar. I simply think California would be better off without the ballot initiatives that have so thoroughly messed up the state. I'm all for the California government, a republic.

you didn't question, you dismissed it despite the fact that it was apparently correct. and you did it solely based on the politics of the source. that shows a narrowness of mind that is fucking scary. basically you're just a slave to your own fucking propaganda. the refusal to think for oneself is pathetic no matter which side you're on.

I got a neighbor who once told me that Jews secretly run the banks, the world, etc.

I don`t need any more reason to dismiss him or any other thing he says, even if 99% of what he says is true. That`s perfectly reasonable.

His credibility is shot with me.

When you tell half the truth ,you`re lying.

That`s how I feel about redstate.And that`s perfectly reasonable.

Capiche?

Well that's nice, Ken.  Maybe you can move out here, and change it.  No doubt we get some nonsense on the ballot, but we get our say, too (medical marijuana being a nice example).  I notice you conveniently ignoring that frightening people away from participating in the process is an easy way to control who gets into those legislative houses you have such confidence in.

Authoritarian, Ken.  Go look yourself in the eye in the mirror, and repeat it three times.  Get used to it.

Which has precisely what to do with trying to keep people from participating in the process, O59?

We know.  It's unions.  You support it, regardless.  At least you aren't still pretending free speech means anything at all to you.

This is what you do,debate champ, when you get called on your bullshit trolling. You get belligerent and pouty.

Look what abusing the recall petitions got you.....arnold-de-loooover....

Davis was a moderate who won the election fairly and squarely.

But whiny assed losers like yourself aren`t ok with democracy, elections and election results you don`t like.

So a few con-ass hats started the recall and Issa spent all his fool`s money(2 million) getting Davis recalled, thinking he`d win the recall election.Big dope he was,Issa didn`t see the terminal-impregnator coming, and ended up with nothing for his two mil. .

Bunch of dopey losers.I don`t think one could write a more rediculous comedy than what your petitions gave you.

Talk about reeping what you sow.

Following election results and the people`s will isn`t authoritarianism. It`s called democracy.Look it up.

Is this how you won your HS debates, redefining terms like authoritarian?

I hope this fearmongering party foul (at minimum) blows up in the faces of the people behind it. Your thoughts?

I've always found that education is the best defense to fear.

How to tell a legit petit!

Maybe you missed it but we don't live in a democracy but a republic. We choose people to make decisions. We do not put everything to a diect vote of the people. California has proven why this is a very bad idea.

Maybe you missed it but another name for our form of government is representative democracy.

Maybe you are completely wrong as usual.

And this comes from a conservative website so you should love it:

ThisNation.com--Is the United States a democracy?

[i]The United States is, indeed, a republic, not a democracy.

Accurately defined, a democracy is a form of government in which the people decide policy matters directly--through town hall meetings or by voting on ballot initiatives and referendums.

A republic, on the other hand, is a system in which the people choose representatives who, in turn, make policy decisions on their behalf. The Framers of the Constitution were altogether fearful of pure democracy. Everything they read and studied taught them that pure democracies "have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths" (Federalist No. 10).

Awwww rml, you are being so un-patriotic! Be nice to Willbur! Don't you know that Willbur is a Genuine American Hero?

Here's one fully documented eye-witness account of his heroism:
"It was a couple of days before Easter '72. The last of NVA's artillery rounds had slammed directly into our bunker. All hope was lost until Combat Army Medic Wilbur pulled me out of the rubble and led me to safety. Wilbur a true American Hero!!!" http://www.collarchat.com/m_3794370/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm#3795741

Exemplary heroes like this are allowed to get a detail or two wrong - even if it is, as in Willbur's case, every detail in every post wrong. They have earned the right to invent, embellish and twist the truth to their own purposes whenever they feel like it. Where would we be without the Willburs of this world?
