Who do you think would make a good President and why?

If you have more..Write it in.

I think Ron Paul would make a good President. I really like all of the things I've seen come from him. I like the way he has voted mostly. If he makes it and keeps his words, I believe we'll see real change for once.

I believe in him so much that I've even offered to do free campaign signs for his run. I've never wanted to do that with any other candidate. He's stating a lot of things I would like to see come to pass.

KeriB -> RE: Who for President? (8/7/2011 9:22:20 PM)

Well I tried that awhile back and it got moved cause it was a POLL and all polls go here they said..Something like that anyway.

None of those count BTW.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Who for President? (8/7/2011 9:36:49 PM)

yeah, if it's a poll, no matter the subject, they tend to move them down here.
as to the question... i dunno man... ron paul has weird ideas about brown people, and being a brown person, i can't really get behind that.

Mind linking that cause I haven't heard any of that. What kind of weird ideas? I've had some weird ideas about you too I must confess and they don't involve you getting behind me either.

I like what the guys says. I like the ideas he's put forth for the role of government. I like that he follows the constitution. Which BTW applies to all people as you know.

there's a fairly recent article, but that information has been around for years. he had a newsletter which printed some pretty hateful articles, and he claimed they were written by some random ghost writer and he had no clue any of those things were being written because he was so busy being a doctor and politician. personally, if my name was on something, i would be scrutinizing everything that came out under it, because my name is MY name, and it represents me.

This is probably not going to go over well with you but I still like most of what he says. If that stuff is true, that isn't too good.

I understand what he meant behind saying a business should be able to do what it wants but the reality of that in those times would mean that blacks wouldn't be able to get jobs.

I don't know what to think about the ghost writer stuff but now I'll have to research it a bit.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Who for President? (8/7/2011 10:51:10 PM)

it doesn't matter if it goes over well with me; you have a right to your own opinion, etc etc.
if you find something illuminating, feel free to share. i've looked for info to debunk it, but i've never come away with anything really satisfactory. it doesn't make sense to me to say "i didn't know what they were writing, even though they were writing for a newsletter with my name on it" and it's hard to find a non-polarized, non-adversarial, just "these are the facts" article about any of it.

(oo it's thundering ^_^ maybe that will put me to sleep.)

One edition maybe, but these were coming out under his name for years. Does he really expect us to believe he never read any of them? I don't buy his story at all. This alone would make me reject him as a candidate and actively work against him, regardless of if I liked his other ideas. But I'm young and idealistic and I hate racism with a passion.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Who for President? (8/7/2011 11:15:24 PM)

^^ see yeah, that's my thought on it. if it had been one aberrant article, it might make sense. but this went on for years, and yeah -- seriously, you put your name on a newsletter and then NEVER read it for years? seriously?
i just don't buy that at all. it doesn't make sense.

HannahLynHeather -> RE: Who for President? (8/7/2011 11:27:32 PM)

being racist is bad enough, but the shit in those newsletters is fucking stupid racism. that makes it even worse. a coming race war? what the fuck? helter skelter anyone?
whoever wrote those things is a paranoid moron as well as a racist.

we're talking real prime presidential material here. [8|]

Well I'd be lying if I didn't say it doesn't make at least a little difference to me how you feel on it. I like you, I like how you carry yourself, so I respect what you have to say.

No it doesn't. I'm trying to understand how someone could allow letters like that to be written and published without having any knowledge. It is possible but maybe not probable. I knew he was a little out there but damn.

Ya know, I just want my freedom back. I want these asshole to stop trying to negate the constitution and write it out of existence. I don't know of anyone that's willing to fight in that way. It would be my luck that the only one likely to actually make any change was a racist jerkwad.

Fuck me.

I have a hard time believing this guy wrote any of that. I believe his story about the ghost writer but as Lilly pointed out. One would think he'd know what had his name on it.

Not that this is on topic but I don't like missing opportunities to say what's on my mind at the time it is.

The lines above are part of why I respect you. You could have come in guns-a-blazing but you didn't..and even with the knowledge that you had you still gracefully gave the situation a chance. You're one of the few females that I look at and see compassion, grace, poise and just an all around good heart.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Who for President? (8/8/2011 7:11:28 AM)

well that's very nice of you to say, Icarys ^_^ thanks!

when you look at the writing style, it really doesn't seem like he was writing them, though at one time he did claim that he did and said that they were "irrelevant" as a defense. =p the ghost writer explanation came out during his last run for president. the problem is just having this stuff in a newsletter that bears your name and that is supposedly about YOUR politics; it's very hard to just say "i didn't know what they were writing" and still appear to be actually engaged in whatever it is you're doing. either he's irresponsible and lazy, OR he was a-okay with what they were saying. =p

there's always something wrong, isn't there? =p i have literally no idea who to vote for.

Here's a vid of him denouncing it all.

That's part 2. I'm watching Part 1 as well now.

Or he was very busy? Regardless, I know I'd carefully scrutinize something that had my name on it.

You're right though.. It doesn't seem to fit him. That was some pretty crazy crap written in those letters. It's hard to know what's really going on in a persons mind for real though.

pahunkboy -> RE: Who for President? (8/8/2011 7:30:21 AM)

I read all of his books,  seen all of his videos- I voted for him in 08, and will vote for Ron Paul again in 2012.

He is the only guy who will fix the monetary system and end the wars.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Who for President? (8/8/2011 7:32:54 AM)

Paul has just as many wacked out ideas as he does good ones.  He's not wining the nomination this time either.

I could vote for Romney if he would just be a man and stand up for the things he has supported in the past.  Instead he seems to be intent on back tracking and twisting himself which ever way it appears can help him win the nomination.

As far Obama, I've had enough of the spineless no balls attitude.  Stand for something.  He screwed up the healthcare because he wouldn't stand up.  He screwed up with the debt deal because he wouldn't take a stand and insist that yep we need cuts but we also need those tax cuts to expire.  They go together.
