http://news.yahoo.com/wis-gop-holds-off-democrats-recall-elections-052219906.html

Reading Yahoo news last night while results were still coming in was vaguely reminiscent of watching Dan Rather during the Bush/Kerry bout. Anyone who doubts bias can spend a while on Yahoo, reading their selections and what they write themselves.

The Wisconsin issue is one where I'm admittedly on the fence. My father drove a truck for a living. Teamsters is what brought us out of poverty. At the same time, I spent a year in shipyards in East Boston watching workers come to work and sit half the day, literally. After we left the yards, myself and two other people affected what was estimated to be 12 million in repairs to things they fucked up - like wiring pumps backwards, wiring relays directly to ground, sending a tech down in the electronics with tri-chlor to clean components, where he promptly shut the hatches and spent the day sniffing the stuff and staying high. He's probably brain dead from the stuff now, but the result of his work was to plug boards and modules back in about anywhere they would fit rather than where they went. It was an absolute mess working it out.

Either way, even with millions pouring in from across the country, dems fell short, and two of them face their own recalls next week. For all those who bitched about money buying elections, maybe you can find something here to bitch about because a large portion of the effort did not stem from Wisconsin.

I'm sorry, am I misreading something here in your interpretation?

Didn't two Republicans lose their seats?

But it was A Dem failure?

Interesting spin.

Had you read the article you would have known that the wording "fall short" is accurate.

I did, so maybe you can educate me Sanity.

Did you really expect every recall effort to succeed?

Frankly, I'm surprised at the success they had.

Ask yourself what the goal for the Dems was. You have no clue, do you.

I'm not going to get into this type of childish argument.

I've already given you my opinion.

Fall short as in not achieve expectation or hopes.

Of course, to fully understand how high those hopes were, one would have to remove their head from their partisan ass.

It's not possible to see anything with even a modicum of objectivity when one is staring through shit of their own making.

Then again, you could just look up yahoo news last night and this morning. The Rather-esque flavor of it is fairly clear.

Has Darling declared yet?  Heard there is some controversy over her race.

Yeah.. It could be that the GOP won this round fair and square, but either way, there is NO WAY that Kathy Nickolaus or whatever her name is should have been in charge of tallying the votes.

She's the one who "found" 7000 votes that put the GOP candidate she had close ties with in the lead that one election, remember? She said that she missed the votes last time because she forgot to hit "save." Apparently the Windows program she was using doesn't even have a "save" option, and she telling a bold-faced lie in her press conference..

It must be hard to know your defeat was in the hands of someone who is either crazy incompetent or just blatantly dishonest, but she's definitely one of the two.

Could be why Darling hasnt declared yet.  I wouldnt want to win tha way either.  Im not saying anything was wrong, and Darling may very well have won legit.  Where are the heads of election officials in Wisconsin to allow this woma, Kathy, to retain her position after numerous complaints over years?

Kathy Nicholas didn't find 7000 votes. Thet were counted but were left off of the Brookfield count in error. Those votes were always there. Next Tuesday, the 16th, 2 democrats will have their recall elections. If they would both lose this whole thing will be a wash.

Taking control of the house by winning all six races would have been a complete win.

Winning two of the seats is still a win for dems.

Then of course there was all the cheating the cons did, which is reminiscent of Florida 2000.

Republicans lost two seats in a recall election.

That can`t be spun as a con win.

14 months from now is another election, this and the recent NY state special election(which cons lost) doesn`t bowed well for cons.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York's_26th_congressional_district_special_election,_2011

That was a long time "safe" seat, held by cons for decades and was won by a liberal who campaigned against messing with medicare and SS benefits.

http://www.examiner.com/political-buzz-in-new-york/wisconsin-recall-election-shows-pendulum-is-swinging-back-to-the-democrats

"Wisconsin recall election shows pendulum is swinging back to the Democrats"

"Four Republicans dodged a bullet last night as voters turned out in the thousands to vote in a special state senate recall election for six senate seats. However, two Republicans lost and losing 1/3 of your state senate seats when all the districts represented in the recall were Republican was a huge loss for Governor Scott Walker."

Folks shouldn`d wait for the sanitizer and his ilk to admit defeat on any issue.

Even if all 6 seats were lost, they`s still be in denile.

The democrats lost but they still won ? Republicans still control the Assembly, the Senate and the Governors office. Nothing has changed.

The democrats goal was to retake control of the state senate. That didn't happen. No spin, just a fact.
