The only uglier word than 'vulva' is 'penis', so I prefer the words pussy and cock, respectively.

Shame, though.  'Vulva' isn't a bad word, but I've always liked the word 'vagina'.  Reason often-stated here: as a kid I mixed it up with 'regina' - Latin for 'Queen', and whose abbreviation is seen on the back of UK coinage in 'Elizabeth R'.
