Ron White :

"We're all a little gay, it's just to what extent you are gay."

In this case I see Eddie's story as the equivalent of the "See! Some of my best friends are gay/black/whatthehellever I'm not homophobic/racist/whatthehellever!" Clearly we are supposed to take it as proof that he understands homosexuals and is bestest friends with some of them.

Oh darn, you caught me out here, zither.

By this reasoning, my two former gay housemates (at different times) and my former lesbian housemate prove all the more my homophobia.

(holds face in shame ... )

You are too funny, girl.

PS

Also took on a black housemate after a previous black housemate moved out while absconding with my recently bought Stratocaster guitar, to fill in my 'racist' creds in your wacko book. (the first one wasn't gay, and the second one wasn't a lesbian, so maybe there is hope for my homphobia after all, if we go by the standards set here).

unimportant because of one very important word in her reply.

quote:

"This person sexuality has nothing to do with your interaction and so nothing of consequence would have put you in a situation to where you might be exposed to anything related to the OP's desired discussion."  The equivalent of your story is a random strait guy went to a working lunch with a random guy of unknown sexuality and they had a nice lunch but sexuality didn't come up and the strait guy assumed the other was homosexual due to their chosen profession, but since the subject was never broached he doesn't actually know.   Also since it was never discussed how could this relate to a desired discussion about peoples interactions and dealings with homophobic response..... "
fucking doughnut hole.

You actually understood anything through all that serious language barrier and logical train wreck and grammatical nightmare, then?

You are quite impressive, can't deny it.

Her entertaining if inscrutable hallucination was about as "equivalent" to anything to do with reality as bus stop graffiti has to do with Debussy.

Every bit as impressive as your use of a common term in the upper Midwest for "girls" or women.

Pardon my slowness in getting caught up to the trailer park mindset here.

The subject under discussion's issue was with expression.

Your issue is with basic comprehension.

Glad to see people finding common ground here, in whatever manner.

Right.

And Lazarus's story is just an equivalent of "See! some of my best mothers were lesbian!"

But he was immediately attacked as being homophobic because he is not gay (as expressed by his stated disinclination regarding m/m kissing).

It is one matter to actually be this stupid, but why anyone would want to advertise it is beyond me.

Nobody attacked him or called him homophobic.

One more blatantly obvious lie. [sm=doh.gif]

Note to Mods - please don't stop this thread - it's hilarious!

OP - seriously:  I think the biggest single factor that accounts for the hostility towards homosexual sex from hetero men, assuming that such hostility exists, is that it's bound up with social status and perceived lack of it. That's a pretty wide-ranging belief, across many societies.  Even in ancient Greece, that seems to have been the case:

"The ancient Greeks did not conceive of sexual orientation as a social identifier, as Western societies have done for the past century. Greek society did not distinguish sexual desire or behavior by the gender of the participants, but rather by the role that each participant played in the sex act, that of active penetrator or passive penetrated.[5] This active/passive polarization corresponded with dominant and submissive social roles: the active (penetrative) role was associated with masculinity, higher social status, and adulthood, while the passive role was associated with femininity, lower social status, and youth.[5]"

It was intentional, zephyr.

Sorry if the humor was missed.

My musician side picked that out of your nick right away. It's somewhat of a dulcimer-type instrument.

Here go you a well known example of the zither:

Clearly your sense of humor needs work. However with all the other things that need work , learning to delete all the extra space in your posts being one, I can understand why it isn't a priority.

I am truly humbled.

I indeed have much to learn regarding cyber-space management from she-with-six-bolded-and-5X-enlarged-lines signature.

If you lot don't stop being rude to each other I'm going to make you all stand against the wall.  Edwynn, stop being pompous.  You others: stop being rude and using unpleasant language.  It's not funny, it's not clever - in fact, it's rather common.

I hope that this is the end of the matter.

Lines Devoted to Arpig:

There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, "It is just as I feared! --
Two Owls and a Hen, four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!
