I agree with the sentiment that it is primarily about submission, control, power, and obedience, but I might put a little different spin on it. I have been pegged (to steal a Savage Love term), had toys manually used on me and have had fingers used on me. I have never experienced anything close to the pleasure of the alleged male g-spot and at the same time it is not really painful either. Intead, I would describe it physically as both intense and uncomfortable (though not necessarily intensely uncomfortable if that makes any sense). Of course what is going in me and how forceful it is being used impacts this. Since it is intense and uncomfortable, my body's instinctive reaction ist to resist it and this just makes it worse. Given that, it is only through my desire to submit to the desires of a dominant woman (or top) that this ever happens. In that sense, I could liken it to getting intensely bitten or beaten or even more so to being intensely tickled. It happens because a dominant woman I have a bond with wants it to happen and in a good scene it all helps take me to sub space. On the other hand, it does not seem as one-dimensional as biting, and unlike a heavy beating, it generally does not become too hazardous to my health if it is done in a sustained and continuous way. Even with intense tickling, eventually my sensitivities dull. With ass play the sensations can go on for an extended period and the intensity is sustained until the dominant has had enough or feels she has taken me to the space she wants me. In that regard it is perhaps uniquely intimate and effective at taking me to an intense sub space. As for the question of it being a sign of being gay I can only offer that since it is physically uncomfortable and not at all pleasurable, and because I only have submissive feelings towards women (and only women I share a specific bond and energy with) I have zero interest in this type of experience with any man or with most women for that matter.
