I am not a Perry fan and can't comment on that one. I am pro death penalty, though I do believe we need to work on the system involved a bit.

Though I doubt there is any government system in place that doesn't need some kind of work.

The sad thing is that confessions have often been proven to be worthless due to police brutality. You all need to visit my fair city to understand this.

The death penalty is unforgiving and it is barbaric. When I think of pedophiles and child murderers, I often think that a little barbarism might go along way. However, I know mistakes are made and I have seen far too many cases where the prosecution has suppressed vital information and where forensic laboratories have made horrendous mistakes, been guilty of pandering to the interest of prosecutors or intentionally falsifying results.

One of our somewhat recently imprisoned Governors abolished the death penalty in Illinois while he was still in office. I believe it was the only admirable thing he accomplished.

If it needs work then there is no way that you should support it. Since it will always be an imperfect system then how can you be pro death penalty?

So you figure the cops had the recruiting center shooter's balls wired up to a field phone, when he was writing his boasting letters to the press? The best Ken could come up with was a vast Islamic terrorist conspiracy, but I know you are far more creative than that, so I'll look forward to your defense proposal.

I am always reading up on things to try and better inform myself. Sometimes this changes my views, other times not so much.
Saying someone shouldn't be responsible for their actions because of their age is scary. Giving such younger people an excuse to purposely get away with... murder. Sets a bad standard I think.

There is violence within the army. It does not get as bad(as far as I know, I know many who have served, but I myself have not) due to the structure of its system.

Here's the way to solve the problem of false prosecutions. You add a caveat to the death penalty, that if the accused is found innocent after the verdict is carried out, the prosecutor gets the same punishment. Now, prosecutors would be far more careful about being correct in their accusations and fewer people would get the death penalty unjustly.

When it's an open and shut case of someone killing, raping or harming a child though, I think we should skip the 50,000 injection and put a .17 cent bullet in the back of their head.

Executing the prosecutor is still execution....how bout we just give them life with no parole and consign them to general prison population no protective custody.
