Status: offline 		No you gave a list of tribes that do require a certain blood quanta.

Not a list of all 500+tribes.

From Wiki.

I gave an actuall government site that says clearly and explcitly, that each tribe sets it own rule, and that some groups allow "tribal residency, or continued contact with the tribe " as criteria.


For example, I knew a white guy from Indiana, who married a woman outside Bethel alaska. He was made a tribal corparation member so that he would be allowed to hunt and provide for His Wife and Children. HE had lived there for years and was a part of thier village. So he was inducted, legally.

thugh I will say you strayed really far from the original point that you were incorrect on.

and a person who is 50% native American, but not enrolled in a tribe (like many Hispanics),gets no benefit as a Native.

The BIA rolls are more important than Quanta (though the two are often related)

Status: offline 		Native people can also adopt children outside thier race, and the children get tribal membership, as do thier descendants.

Blood quanta is the most common,

But it is not the only criteria.

I asked for a list that uses these as its only requirements for membership.

Tribes require lineage.

Again, from your source

How do I apply for enrollment in a tribe?

After you have completed your genealogical research, documented your ancestry, and determined the tribe with which your ancestor was affiliated, you are ready to contact the tribe directly to obtain the criteria for membership.

All that before you apply.

If you want to pretend people who have native blood get special privledges, based on thier race, go ahead.

If you want to believe that one must be a genetic descendant of a tribe to be enrolled, go ahead. There are several unusuall exceptions, which you have been provided.


Tribal Benefits are accrued by tribal membership, not race (despite there being a large overlap of the two).

In order to be a member, you have to establish lineage. Something you cannot dispute.

And furthermore, a person can have the required blood quanta (but can't proove it) and not be enrolled, there are many hispanics who fall into that catagory)

Your site got it wrong.

From the actual application.

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY: Based on our constitution and enrollment ordinance, a person must meet the
following eligibility requirements in order to become a tribal member:
1. Any person listed on the Base Roll for the tribe, or
2. Any blood descendent or adoptee of Native descent of a base enrollee and their descendants by blood or adoption, or
3. Persons of Native descent with historic or ancestral ties to the Village of Afognak
