ORIGINAL: slvemike4u Seems like you are advocating rebellion...did not Jefferson also say that( I am paraphrasing here) no people should ever take such a step lightly...or over too little grievance. While the mechanism of free elections are still in place, when the Constitution of your country is still the law of the land....and when the Bill of Rights still hold sway....how can you advocat the violent overthrow of a lawfully elected government ? Not liking the results of an election,or the subsequent direction the country might take due to those results does not seem to me to be reasons to rush to water the tree of liberty with your nieghors blood [8|] I'm not advocating actual, blood-letting rebellion, no. We aren't to that point yet, and hopefully never will be. However, Jefferson was a bit like Cain I believe ([8D]) in using hyperbole to make a point: the people get the government and society that they will settle for, nothing more, and nothing less. I personally believe that the TEA party is more correct than the Occupy folks, but I acknowledge that the Occupy folks have a real grievance, even if they are more inchoate than the TEA party. It is basically the two sides of the American streams of political thoughts, both up in arms. It will energize both major parties, because the pressure will be on both. Hopefully, the results will serve the greater middle. Firm
