Well, I have never punched anyone in my life. But the Bible would never leave the fucking doorstep, and I would certainly tell him I did not appreciate his attempt to indoctrinate my kids in his stupid religion. Their religious education is my right and responsibility. I would have no problem with my kids witnessing that, since it mirrors what I always told them about religion. Be tolerant and quiet when the religious are leaving you the fuck alone and respecting your beliefs, be assertive when they aren't. This whole situation would be extremely ironic if it happened in my town. There was a group of Christian parents that attended school board meetings and engaged in letter writing campaigns to have the Harry Potter books removed from the library at the school because they didn't want their kids exposed to them. I don't have a similar right to decide what my kid is exposed to? Someone who would hand out a bible in these circumstances is trying to be provocative. The OP states he is doing it because he disapproves of Halloween, for some ignorant reason, and is trying to make a point. When one is being deliberately provocative, they shouldn't be surprised if it works.
