Well I wasn't really ever disciplined physically

Best reason for corporal punishment Ive seen yet.
Rarely does a poster come out ,in such a clear definitive way,to tell the world they are an asshole.

Lucylastic -> RE: Monster....... (11/3/2011 1:27:33 PM)

Twat will be willbe!!

Hillwilliam -> RE: Monster....... (11/3/2011 7:54:42 PM)

http://news.yahoo.com/judge-daughter-posted-beating-video-spite-214103601.html

The judge replies.

He says she posted the video out of spite. No regret. No sorrow. Just basically saying "The little bitch did it to spite me"

Jail time anyone?

keechoo -> RE: Monster....... (11/3/2011 8:20:11 PM)

Why did she wait so long? Why did she do it after her father refused to buy her a new Mercedes and limit the financial support he was giving her? And why post it on youtube? Why not just take it and bring it to the teachers, guidance counselors, principal, police, lawyer, prosecutor? There is some other hidden agenda there not only "....I just want him to get help...".

slvemike4u -> RE: Monster....... (11/3/2011 8:24:09 PM)

Perhaps,but is her current agenda as important as what his past behavior says about him.
Put aside for the moment any possible prosecution for his assault( that is what it was folks) he is a FAMILY COURT Judge.....I don't care if she is the daughter from he'll( parents sometimes get the children they raised) he does not belong sitting in a seat of authority ...especially one having to do with families and children.

I would think revenge is pretty obvious. She taped it 7 years ago as a minor, how many years, how many times did she go thru beatings ? Id have snapped long before the age of 23. A user? a bitch? maybe... But in her shoes, I would consider a jail sentence for patricide to be a good deal

tazzygirl -> RE: Monster....... (11/3/2011 9:33:38 PM)

Lucy... you got mail!

Hillwilliam -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 5:27:18 AM)

I dont have the link handy but the DA said no charges.

tazzygirl -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 5:34:50 AM)

Heard that this morning too. He will still face charges, but seems those are more like disciplinary charges.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 8:15:06 AM)

an interesting thing in regards to this.

i popped over to a hair forum i visit from time to time, mostly populated with black people. there was also a thread there concerning this video and most of them were coming to the defense of the dad (!!) and saying that the girl had been the worst offender by taping it. =p

i sometimes wonder why i can't relate to other black people, but i have to say, reading that thread made me happy i don't.

black people in generally usually have a different opinion of corporal punishment, and usually excuse more severe cases, and tend to think of it as "the only way" -- they're more likely to quote the bible, particularly "spare the rod." many of them were also then saying "what she got was nothing compared to what i did" -- and maybe that's coming out of not wanting to think of their own parents as abusers?

someone told me once that they considered using things like hangers and extension cords abuse, and thing like that were used on me when i was a kid.

anyway, that was an interesting cross-cultural experience... i was pretty horrified by most of the responses i read on the other forum. preeettty horrified.

mnottertail -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 8:19:45 AM)

Yeah, theres only so many ways to get your Jheri Curl on, don't know how much that forum does for you.

Nevertheless; (and having quite a bit of experience with this) black folk are under some hella community peer pressure to 'act right in all things' (very old testament sorta stuff, in the ways you say lilly) and they are damnably hard on themownfuckinselves.

But I can assure you that compared to my father, that man took his daughter out for an ice cream.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 8:24:09 AM)

My parents used to spank me with a pancake turner, Lilly. Wouldn't have dreamed of doing that to my own kids. On the other hand, now that I think about it, if B wanted to spank me with a pancake turner. . .

Anyway, maybe the state Bar will institute disciplinary procedures. They aren't so bound by SOLs. I do agree about one thing, though. The timing of all this is suspicious. Wanting someone to "get help" is usually just something people say to justify their actions. She was basically saying "fuck you, dad.". I don't really blame her, but I don't believe her only motive was so he would "get help."

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 8:28:46 AM)

i'm sure her motive is revenge of some kind. did he get an award or some other accolade recently? i have no idea, but maybe she got sick of his wholesome texas image and wanted to show what she thought was the truth. i don't blame her either, but i don't think "get help, dad" is the only motivation.

you're right, mnottertail -- they do tend to stick reeeally closely to the old testament. i know i would never use a wire hanger or an extension cord on my own kids, and i've sometimes sat and wondered why it was considered a "good idea," and questioning your family/elders is always kind of uncomfortable.

i was just really SHOCKED by the "go dad! whoop her ass!" type of rallying there, vs. here, where people seem more sane -- on a BDSM site, no less. =p they would probably call all of us nuts, but from where i'm standing, they're all fucking insane. =p

and i go to the hair forum because i like talking about hair. =p but i'm actually seriously considering never going there again. =p haha

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 8:32:43 AM)

That is kind of strange, Lilly. Why do you think that is? When i was a kid, corporal punishment was very common, but most of the people I know did not physically discipline their kids, or did so rarely, even though it had been done to them. Why would blacks consider it happening to them to be a reason to do it to their own kids? Is it religious or cultural? Or both?

I've read about this on other forums too and while the races of the posters is not usually noted, if we presume a cross section of America, then there are plenty of white people with a "spare the rod" mentality. It sickens me too, the large number of people who are defending the father and making jokes about the woodshed. I cannot understand how they see a man who has clearly lost his temper and is swinging a belt around in a rage is anything other than an abuser. I am not one hundred percent against corporal punishment but if a person cannot exhibit self discipline then they have no business disciplining another.

i think it's both. most of their explanations are "see, people stopped spanking and now look where we are!" or they quote the Bible, or they say "well it happened to me."
getting whacked didn't make me a good person, it made me afraid of the adults in my life. =p and if getting whacked is supposed to make you better, i wonder why the rates of crime and violence in the black community aren't going down, even though spanking hasn't really decreased among black people. =p ask the guys in jail if they got spankings, and they'll probably say "yep." =p

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Monster....... (11/4/2011 8:42:48 AM)

it's just gotten even more hilarious!

i compared it with spousal abuse and they said "omgz totally different thing!" -- how so? you're using pain and violence to teach a lesson. it's the exact same thing.

so the next retort is "well there's a chain of authority" -- okay, if you have authority over your dog, try beating your dog like that and see if you don't go to jail for animal cruelty.

OOOR the police -- they have authority over you, but if they treated you that way, the first words out of your mouth would be police brutality.

holy sheeeeeeeesh these people are fucking nuts!!

i think... i'm just going to log out of there and......... talk about hair elsewhere. =p

Obviously you`re clueless to the subject or couldn`t care less,perhaps clueless in life too.

Usually, nothing is ever logical or makes sense when it comes to domestic violence and family abuse.
