http://news.yahoo.com/einsteins-laws-prove-ghosts-exist-144407090.html

Now this is an interesting article.
Somehow I've always thought that the "afterlife" was more rooted in science than religion.
Einstein was right about energy neither being created nor destroyed.

As I've said on many of the religious threads...the universe is a strange place and we have so little knowledge of its basic principals that it is impossible to say there is or is not a God... the same goes for ghosts.

HERE is a link to a Nova on PBS special on the very fabric of the universe. In this special there are theories that conform to known laws of physics that show it is possible that all that has happened in the past AND future has happened… We are just in a slice of reality that is moving in one direction making a time frame as we go. But… your birth and every day and happening through your life past and future is happening at the same time. If you could throw your time slice out of phase, which is also possible by know physics principals, you could travel in time.

So ghosts may just be an out of phase time slice… Sounds fantastic and many here will swear that science has all the answers even if they are even more fantastic then the thought of the existence of God.

Check it out if you have not seen it… very interesting and it explains many complicated theories in ways us non-geniuses can understand the possibilities.

Butch

Ghosts definitely exist in my world.
My dad put his mass card from his wake inside a pot in my lower cabinet just the other day.
My mom puts out street lights for me.
It doesn't matter if it's just coincidence or if I'm crazy....it gives me comfort on such a level that I never look for any other explanation.

i believe in them.
i also believe that we are so small in the larger scheme of things, it doesn't make much sense for us to try to say we totally understand everything going on around us. it's like a semi-colon in a Word document trying to understand how the whole computer works.

at one time we believed the earth was the center of everything. now we believe our universe may not be solitary.

i've learned throughout my life that there is something beyond physical life, and there are things that may exist around us that we can't see and only perceive subconsciously. who knows what they are; maybe one day we will find out.

Einstein also said that "time" can be "bent" like bending a twig perhaps that could explain ghosts, somehow time is being bent and we get to see people in the past (or the future) if only for a few seconds. Now that's a good theory if I do say so myself.
Also, it would seem from that article that "time" is circular and not lineal. If that's so then you know what that means!
Time could be so large that we can't see it's shape but, an oval or a circle is the perfect shape in nature not a straight line.

I believe in ghosts, spirits, demons. I also believe we are all recycled.

told me do not fear them it is the living we need to truly fear!  never answer if they call

Short answer yes.

It wasn't just Einstein either but quite a few from that period who had interesting beliefs about energy and the spiritual. There was that scholar of Freud Wilheim Reich who was of the opinion that spiritual energy appeared everywhere and within everything and he developed this machine for busting clouds to release sexual energy. This is what the Kate Bush song 'Cloudbusting' refers to. It's about Peter Reich's 'Book of Dreams' which was mostly about his father's difficulties with the authorities.

Then you have Rudolf Steiner who devoted his entire life to trying to establish a relationship between science and mysticism and who was of the opinion that the supernatural or spiritual world can be studied just like any other science but with a different discipline.

These were however people persecuted by the Nazis in the 1930's and while Einstein made it to the United States I for one am curious as to how things would have developed had Rudolf Steiner also moved to the States. It would have been interesting as America was coming out of the Depression and the Americans were doing what they usually do best - taking an idea, investing in it, and making it popular.

Rudolf Steiner is of course best known for his work in education and the development of the Waldorf system of alternative education, which has consistently shown itself to be one of the best. But if you read up more on his work you come across stuff like Eurhythmy, a form of music, performance and theatre, and such things as economic threefolding but what is compelling, if anybody can find it, is Steiner's concept as to what happens to us after we die. I remember reading it in a book back in 1996 when I started teaching in a Waldorf school in Warsaw and it had a profound effect on my thinking, as did reading some of the other books I was given. I just can't recall the title of the book.

I feel we know far less about energy and what it does than we think we do, and there's plenty of scope for exploration and discovery of all things spiritual. I think it was Einstein who was of the opinion that 'what exists cannot later not exist' which was part of his Mirabilis Papers published in 1905 which was about mass energy equivalence. It's also interesting that he excluded anatomical matter from his theory of relativity.

I believe in the possibility that ghosts might exist, but I also consider that, just as with psychics, UFOs, and prophets, most of them turn out to be fake.

Yep, have had a few "ghostly" or "energy" experiences over the years. Have learned enough to say that just because I haven't personally experienced something yet, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Different people are sensitive to different frequencies, and therefore, may have different experiences with such things.

What do you mean when you come back? You already do that

To the OP:
Yes, I believe in ghosts, I believe in demons, I believe in evil...I believe in good.

I have seen too many things in my life to not believe in them.

I "think" I saw a UFO one time but I've never seen a ghost.
Strange, some people see lots of ghosts but many like me see none. Maybe I'm not on the right "plane" or something?
Or maybe for some reason time just doesn't "bend" around me.
