Sorry, as a resident of Ireland instead of the U.S., you don't enjoy the same rights I do.

Ah well then, if that's the case, then I to have a right not to be subjected to ignorant wankers and their stupid arsed ideas. So we'll not be hearing from you again then shall we?

Hmmm... lets see,,,

A United States House of Representatives appropriations bill (HR 2490) with an amendment specifically permitting breastfeeding[29] was signed into law on September 29, 1999. It stipulated that no government funds may be used to enforce any prohibition on women breastfeeding their children in Federal buildings or on Federal property. Further, a U.S. Public Law[30] enacted in 1999, specifically provides that "a woman may breastfeed her child at any location in a Federal building or on Federal property, if the woman and her child are otherwise authorized to be present at the location."

So, that takes care of the Federal Law. Which means the notion that someone has the right NOT to be subjected in public is false.

Twenty-eight states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands exempt breastfeeding from public indecency laws. (Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.)

Michigan
Mich. Comp. Laws § 41.181, § 67.1aa and § 117.4i et seq. (1994) state that public nudity laws do not apply to a woman breastfeeding a child.

http://www.ncsl.org/IssuesResearch/Health/BreastfeedingLaws/tabid/14389/Default.aspx

And there goes the notion that "whipping out" a woman's breast is no different than a man "whipping out" his cock.

And here I thought it was citizenship and not residency that was what was important, silly me.

"And here I thought it was citizenship and not residency that was what was important, silly me."

Actually that is a quite serious issue and under debate. It's just not publicised. The difference between a Citizen and a resident is mentioned in the Constitution, but as the debate goes forward, which affects taxpayer status as well as certain forms of jurisdictional limits, it hasn't been to the supreme courts yet. The ramifications reach from taxpayer status to liability under EPA regs. There is alot to it. There are people every day debating the subject in preparation for court battles.

Alot of them will lose, but some will win. And they will, because some of these debaters are ex law professors from Harvard and shit. We are not talking a mail order notary public.

I'm waiting for their next move.

So in other words you can't show you have the RIGHT to not be subjected to breastfeeding in public and in fact there's no such thing so you're going to go off on another tangent.

In other words it's a right because you say so? Cool I'm going to call in to work and tell them I have the right to stay home and be paid.

Take a government class (preferably in college) and then come talk to me about rights. Otherwise, it's like I'm having a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Right on schedule. You are so predictable it's pathetic. Come on what's next? Calling me a misogynist? Go on, you know you want to. It's the very next thing in your playbook. Let's have it.

Well, that made me curious as to how many times I have called someone a misogynist. And the answer is 0. You, apparently, are no stranger to having the term applied to you. Food for thought.

No it's not. The next stop for everyone who brings someone's mother into a discussion is to call the person a misogynist. I have views that disagree with theirs, so clearly I must be on the outs with my mom or some type of woman-hating asshole. You're just one more in the chorus. And frightfully unoriginal.

And here I thought Awareness was above having a sock puppet...

kalikshama -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/18/2011 7:10:22 AM)

It's not your views, it's how you express them, and how you make breastfeeding an issue of female entitlement. And if so many women call you a women-hater, you might want to consider the common denominator.

Silly me, here I thought feeding a baby was more a responsibility rather than female entitlement. I guess the guy just wants to be able to run about, sticking his dick where ever, without a care for the potential after effects and responsibilities that go with one of those potential after effects.

It is a symptom of their entitlement, yes. Are you honestly trying to tell me that women who squat out kid after kid so they can get more welfare don't exist? Are you honestly trying to tell me that mom's who take their screaming spawn to movie theaters for R-rated movies don't exist? Are you honestly trying to tell me the kids I see throwing tantrums in restaurants with uncaring parents don't exist? Are you honestly trying to tell me the news stories featuring an irate mother, furious over her child being disciplined in school when it wasn't being done at home don't exist?

Bullshit. It's all a symptom of the same problem.

Yeah....it's this site. None of the women who I call friends hold any of the same views as the ones here. Ironic, in fact, that I have more female friends than guy friends. But I know that probably blows your mind, so I won't go on about it too much.

Indeed. And I hope every single one of them does so with a very smug smile on their face knowing they are upsetting people like him to the degree they are.

That delights me!

GreedyTop -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/18/2011 7:36:18 AM)
