Do you think that "Convictable Legality" is all that matters in Government subsidy of executives?

well, gee, lucky, I didnt realize you set a timer for responses.

I would think convictions should be paramount in such matters. Else, why would they have reason to stop?

actually, the Obama administration pressured them to delay announcing layoffs till after the 2010 mid-term elections.....

BTW, that isnt even the biggest part of the scandal....the restructuring of the debt to put the taxpayers last in line in the event of bankruptcy...after it was already projected nearly to the day when they would go bankrupt...that is the most repulsive part of the whole thing.

tazzygirl -> RE: The Phony Solyndra Scandal (11/27/2011 1:49:30 PM)

Btw, I quit bitching when Chrysler got away with bankruptcy without paying back $1.6 billion.

Its politics as usual.

Oh, jeez, I don't know, I think that Nixon taking the post office off the books so that it is pay pay pay and taxpayers are in no line whatsoever is far grander a debaucle, nearly at Nixons HMO bullshit....

Bullshit Tazzy, Bush turned down Solyandras loan request.

Source, please.

luckydawg -> RE: The Phony Solyndra Scandal (11/27/2011 4:16:57 PM)

Kali, I really though you were better than that.

If you are truley that unimformed about the issue, go do some reading.

Playing stupid is really fucking tiresome.

Both of those facts are widely reported and have been for some time now.

Bush didnt turn any loan down.

The same panel that remanded the loan, did so in order to get more info. The same panel then passed the loan in march, the time frame they had previously set.

In effect this was an existing application posted by the very people who asked for more info.

You wont understand the nuance of this, but most people will.

luckydawg -> RE: The Phony Solyndra Scandal (11/27/2011 4:25:59 PM)

actually the people and policies of the Bush administration, did reject the loan, which was passed under pressure from Obamas people so it would be done in time for a speech....

Most people will grasp that also.

as well as Obamas people getting them to hide layoff news in order to influence the election...

and as well as putting the Government last in line for payback after it was known they were going to fail

Most people will grasp that.

Sadly for you and Lucky, most of us grasp reality. Luckys reply was absolute bullshit that he just picked from thin air. He didnt deny I was right and we all know the truth of the matter.

Again, for the hard of thinking, this was a loan application from the Bush era overlapping the incomming administration, nothing more nothing less.

Youre the one spouting bullshit, probably from the fishwrap you call newspapers there, or dailykos.

Here are the facts:

'By the time the Obama administration took office in late January 2009, the loan programs' staff had already established a goal of, and timeline for, issuing the company a conditional loan guarantee commitment in March 2009,' said Jonathan Silver, who heads the Energy loan program.

Republicans pushed back hard against this version of events, unearthing internal Energy Department emails that indicate the panel evaluating the loans had made the unanimous decision to shelve Solyndra's application two weeks before Obama took office."

"The next day, Jan. 13, 2009, [Bush DoE official Lachlan] Seward sent his email to Energy Department colleagues saying it was time to stop engaging with Solyndra officials."

If ABC characterizes "The View" as a "chatfest" why do you insist on giving it political weight?

"The View," recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Talk Show," is ABC Daytime's morning chatfest, featuring a team of dynamic women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day.

luckydawg -> RE: The Phony Solyndra Scandal (11/27/2011 4:49:35 PM)

“It was alarming,” said Frank Rusco, a program director at the Government Accountability Office, which found that Energy Department preliminary loan approvals — including the one for Solyndra — were granted at times before officials had completed mandatory evaluations of the financial and engineering viability of the projects. “They can’t really evaluate the risks without following the rules.”

The Energy Department’s senior staff has acknowledged in interviews the intense pressure from top Obama administration officials to rush stimulus spending out the door.

I dont. The show's lack of political weight is an apt comparison to that of a group of sycophantic liberals here. (Of which you are not a part)

Exclusive Timeline: Bush Administration Advanced Solyndra Loan Guarantee for Two Years, Media Blow the Story

It’s often claimed that the Solyndra loan guarantee was “rushed through” by the Obama Administration for political reasons. In fact, the Solyndra loan guarantee was a multi-year process that the Bush Administration launched in 2007.

You’d never know from the media coverage that:

1. The Bush team tried to conditionally approve the Solyndra loan just before President Obama took office.
2. The company’s backers included private investors who had diverse political interests.
3. The loan comprises just 1.3% of DOE’s overall loan portfolio. To date, Solyndra is the only loan that’s known to be troubled.

luckydawg -> RE: The Phony Solyndra Scandal (11/27/2011 4:56:43 PM)

kali, that is from a nonsense blog.

2 and 3 have no relevance at all.

And real News, not liberal activist blogs, report that the Obama administration did pressure for the loan to be approved.

are you going to refuse to read the link I gave you?

Its hilarious that the lib sites that made this bloggers post viral dont realize that there are emails from the DOE showing that 1. is a lie, and that the very fact that the Bush Administration refused to grant it after 2 years, combine with Biteme and Blowboy started touting it almost immediately after a market analysis predicted their bankruptcy helps prove the point they are trying to debujnk.

Lucylastic -> RE: The Phony Solyndra Scandal (11/27/2011 5:00:09 PM)

n October 2007, the Department of Energy had completed vetting of the applications and had narrowed the number it was still considering to 16, one of which was the application from Solyndra. The remaining 16 were invited to submit full applications for the program, and Solyndra did so in May 2008. The Department of Energy began evaluating Solyndra's application on January 9, 2009 and determined that the project had merit but that additional issues would need to be resolved before approval could be granted.[11]
