ORIGINAL: slvemike4u Lets just see how long it takes for the league to catch up to him.A few years ago the Dolphins had some success with the "wild cat " offence, but it wasn't substainable. The NFL loves nothing as much as success, have some with any new system, and the league will mimic your every innovation The 46 defense, the 3-4....cover 2,you name it if it is viable they will reproduce it. Well the NFL has never and will never have a team that for reasons other than a lack of talent(Denver) employs an option offense....and the why is simple. The athletes playing defense in the NFL are too big ,too fast and too talented for the option to be successful So why is Tebow and the Denver Broncos having their little run right now? Simple answer, the league needs time to adjust...thats right,Denver is playing an offense so BACKWARDS that NFL defensive coordinators have not, yet, caught up. Here is what will happen...some Defensive coordinator will sit down and say to himself enough is enough...ad he will game plan Tebow to a fare thee well, and than his defense will go out and execute(remember every other game these guys play is against a PRO offense...all of a sudden they have to remember how to do it like they used to do it at the old University...lol)in the process beating the shit out of Tebow pretty good(remember these guys are too good and too fast)...and that is it,now the blue print is out, every future team breaks down those films and the ride is over. Elway drafts a real QB and Tebow starts announcing SEC games and recalling his "glory days" Tutorial over.[:D] Comparing it to the Wildcat shows that you know absolutely nothing about football. The Denver spread option isn't a gimmick. It's sound football. It eliminates the defense's numeric advantage in the running game while also leaving the option open for the pass. It causes wreaks havoc for defensive ends and scheming in general. It's not used often because teams are afraid of quarterback durability. These guys aren't "too good and too fast". They're NFL players. Do you know who else is an NFL player? Tim Tebow and many of the folks he played in the SEC. Don't talk about what can and cannot work when your basic knowledge of the game is lacking. Your post is proof positive that I have ,over the years ,probably forgotten more about football than you have ever known. A typical SEC defense MIGHT have one,or at the outside two,NFL quality defenders on their 100 plus squad.Of course NFL defenders are too fast and too big for the option offense to work in the NFL.These defenders are the cream of the crop, the chaff has entered the real world after enjoying thier college success. The NFL is where the MEN go to play, while the boys try to get some value from thier physical education degrees. You know who else doesn't believe this is substainable......John Fucking Elway, thats who...have you heard of him,he is in the NFL Hall of Fame....and despite Tebows 7-1 record John Elway refuses to jump on this bandwagon. Fuck Tebow, and fuck any idiot that doesnt understand enough about the game to realize they should keep their mouth shut when addressing those that know what they are talking about. Thanks for playing. Way to not provide any evidence for anything at all. John Elway is an unproven commodity as a General Manager and personnel guy. Do you have any idea how Michael Jordan has done as a team executive? Give me football reasons why the schematics of their offense is unsustainable. I gave a few points that you didn't refute in the slightest. Also learn to speak/type English properly. I won't hold my breath on either of them. PS- your envy of Tebow is almost palpable.
