Before going to the site, self assess where you would be on this chart, then take the test and report back. (honestly, if you can bear it when you see the result).

political compass

I should add, since this is a follow up from an apparent misassesment of my politics in another thread by Bantha, feel free to post where you think I fall.

The problem that there was with the test is there was no I dont give a fuck, I either had to agree or disagree.

But I stood where I thought I would but not as deep.

I'd put myself in the green but pretty close to the intersection of all four. I'm pretty much a moderate with a few fringy issues on both sides. For example.. firmly pro-choice but equally firm pro-gun. Will take test and see how well I know myself. :D

Misread and changed purple to green and ended up exactly where I thought I'd be. In the green but very close to the intersection. I know me so well.

the test is strangely silent on gun control.

I noticed that. I did some more reading on the site and I think it's British. That would explain the gun control silence.

I'm with Hillwilliam in the upper right corner of the green quadrant.

But not on astrology, for some reason.

That's okay.. I screwed up with initial self test and should have said green not purple which is exactly where I ended up. Gun stuff might have tipped me over to the purple side but I'm so close to the intersection as to make the matter moot. I didn't think to cut out the actual numbers I scored.. I just liked the pretty colors.

The problem with your test is it demands absolutes, it leaves no option for being undecided on certain issues.

I tried to get through by skipping over certain questions but it would not let me continue.

Willbe.. what was yours?? you arent gonna keep us in suspense, are ya..

I dunno.. i took a test like this a couple of years ago (it said i was a left leaning conservative), although i cant say its the same test, there were many obtuse questions on this one so had some questions been worded differently i would have answered much differently

my results for this one-
Economic Left/Right: -1.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.46

You do know the reason, right?

And since your comment inspired this thread, where do you think I am on it?

There were a couple early on that were a bit too broad, but overall I thought the questions were pretty clear cut.

I don't really know you, so I have no clue.

Well, you have expressed admiration for free markets in the past, so I'd assume you'd be in positive numbers along that axis.
