In typical Obama fashion

He decided... to fail to decide

Voted "present" as always

Could have sworn he did make a decision on this. Maybe you missed it as you miss everything else?

I think you are mentally time warping again.

President Barack Obama immediately threatened to veto the bill if it contained the pipeline construction, according to ABC News.

Thats not a decision on the pipeline taz

Thats a threat to veto a decision

tazzygirl -> RE: Repubs hold the middle class hostage over a fucking pipeline (12/12/2011 7:00:13 PM)

Has this even went to the WH for signature? Even one proposal?

Lucylastic -> RE: Repubs hold the middle class hostage over a fucking pipeline (12/12/2011 7:00:20 PM)

He made a decision.. just not one you approve of.
You should be used to that by now

Sanity -> RE: Repubs hold the middle class hostage over a fucking pipeline (12/12/2011 7:07:06 PM)

Again,

No. He made a veto threat.

The pipeline itself is still in limbo on his account, you should know this because it has been in the news for months and months now, and we have had multiple threads on the subject in these forums

oh good heavens, im not talking about the veto, Im talking about pushing it back for all the reviews.
Its much more than just his decision
This side of the border has a lot of issues with it too, so its not just down to him
Try reading another point of view on it, one that is ...different to yours, because other facts might help. Because you really dont know the full facts in the slightest so try looking outside your box, for a change.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Repubs hold the middle class hostage over a fucking pipeline (12/12/2011 7:18:40 PM)

A quick question about the pipeline.

I have heard from those on the right that it won't cost the taxpayers a dime. Tis a good thing but I have a question.

Who will buy the land? Eminent Domain is a governmental privelege.

Exxon or whoever is building the line cannot exercise eminent domain in the event one or more property owners don't want to play ball.
That would be the job of the federal government and that costs a buncha money. It also opens up the nasty fact of a governmental body excercising eminent domain so that a private corporation can make money. I didn't like it when it was done a couple of years ago for a developer and I don't like it for this purpose either.

Would the government be building the line and then leasing it to the oil company? If so, that's a bunch of our tax dollars at work but at least there is a possibility of a profit.

Yes, its his administration, theyre his agencies, and theyve studied it endlessly

Its purely political at this point and its well publicized that he voted "present"

He is putting off a decision until after the election, as always he is on vacation

When you finally figure out what the term 'voted present" means in reference to BO then you will be getting up to speed with last years news and events

Maybe it would help if you wrote little baby Barack a letter and informed him that hes not a junior senator any more, and that being the president means that he should really start thinking about maybe trying to consider making an occasional decision on some some things once in a while

Deep down, I know you wish he had the courage to decide... [:D]

But all he ever does is run away and hide

Hillwilliam -> RE: Repubs hold the middle class hostage over a fucking pipeline (12/12/2011 9:13:14 PM)

I'm still waiting to see someone figure out how all that land either purchased or leased under eminent domain won't cost the taxpayers any money.
