Germans aren't white?

My paternal great grandparents came from Germany before WWI. Both of my paternal grandparents were raised to speak English without an accent and my father never even learned German because of what happened in the two wars. (He was actually raised in an Italian neighborhood.)

But, I will say when someone pulls the race card, they often pull it out against the entire white population, whether it applies or not. I was raised to accept everybody. I truly don't care if you're Christian, Muslim, Jewish, African American, Hispanic, gay or straight. What I care about is whether you're an asshole.

There are US born terrorists: Timothy McVey

I find this action by the Delta pilot to be extremely sad, especially since my line of work directly supports the airline. But, I also dislike posts that paints every American as a hate monger. Just like not all Islamics are extremists....not all Americans view non-Christian or other races as less than.

I think that the pilot should be made to spend a year flying international routes that Muslims frequently use, without the authority to deny anyone on board, UNLESS the reasoning is supported by security staff.

on off time (i.e. several days off, vacations, etc) during that period, the pilot should be required to spend time with a Muslim, doing volunteer work.

They have a case against the airline because the pilot is an employee, but also, until all policies come through and the depositions occur, it remains to be seen if the pilot violated policy or if he was acting within the scope of the policies Delta has.  All in all, to me, if there were other muslims flying on Delta and who fly on Delta, it's kind of hard to prove that Delta discriminates against people being Muslim, however, they are two specific people and the pilot's insinuations were pretty clear as to why he didn't want them flying.

They can -- even with a confidentiality clause - as part of the settlement request policy changes within Delta.  We did that with one of our cases against a company and requested them to outline the plans they are taking to insure the incident never happens again or it does it's best to ensure same.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
