You and I are products of our generations, our families and our backgrounds. You complain about the flag being spat upon. My dad had his body spat upon. Please, dont assume you would possibly understand how that could make a man feel, being treated that way while working for a government who allowed it.

Really... I am a Vietnam vet tazzy two tours…now tell me again how you know how we felt...you heard it I lived it. You should not talk down to people when you don’t know anything about them.

What, being a white boy in the military?

Ah, I get it. You think my father was spat upon because he was a vet.... try thinking a bit more outside the box. Try being spat upon by the very men you served with.

Oh good lord...I could not care less about your dad just as you could not care less about my experiences 40 years ago...lets stay on subject...do you think burning a flag did the ows movement any good...if they were a part of the movement.

Distrustful of Facebook and other mainstream social networking sites, Occupy members are constructing their own independent networking system on the Net.

Well, y'know, they need to be able to plot in secret. They woldn't want someone to disrupt their plans to disrupt something, now would they?

Many.. define many... because poll after poll has shown support for the movement.

Nice try. But disapproval for police actions does not automatically equal support for OWS. Those polled about the police involvement could simply be expressing their views about police involvement in *any* protest. It doesn't mean they supported what OWS claims to support.

We just had that thread. Sorry you missed it. But as usual, a few spoiled it and the thread was removed.

In other words, you can't sum it up into one cohesive statement but are more than willing to sit there and claim I don't know.

Cute.

The paranoia thing is funny enough, but ANYONE (be they on the Left or the Right) who thinks they can realistically withhold anything from the "authorities" is more than a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

2 are members, 2 are not. Burning the flag is completely legal. Burning without a permit in some states may not be a big deal, it is in the south.
Yeah, it's these extended droughts. The county I'm in is the only one in the 18 county ATL metro area that allows any burning (w/o permitting) at all, and that's only with restrictions, and only from Oct. 1 to Apr. 30.

If you think a bunch of hippies burning bras and flags represented the views of America in the 60's and 70's you would be wrong again... Almost 40,000 men and women died, their caskets covered, and flag presented to their grieving relatives. Americans that burned flags then were assholes and they are today.

I fought for their right to burn our flag but I reserve the right to say fuck um and anybody else that thinks it is ok to insult those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

Butch
So you would say "fuck you" to my brother?

No offence, but you dont understand this movement in the least.

What I am saying...that you can't seem to comprehend... is that burning the flag will do the OWS no good...
Butch
And what you can't seem to comprehend is:
1)OWS is in NEW YORK CITY, on the southern end of the island of Manhattan. OWS has NOTHING TO DO with Charlotte, NORTH CAROLINA.
2) OCCUPY CHARLOTTE has (as much as any inorganization can) disavowed the actions of the four people involved.
3) THe four people involved have stated that the action they took was their own protest, and not "by" or "for" or "representing" OC.

The original story: Police not sure OC part of this. Action took place in front of the OC encampment.
Then RealClear's story: "...NEAR the Occupy Charlotte camp..."
Then RealClear's Headline: "Two U.S. Flags Burned AT Occupy Charlotte..."
Finally, Heretic's Hysteria: "Occupy tries to stay in the news"
- It's not even Occupy Charlotte now, it's all of the Occupy movement. (denoted by #OCCUPY)

Are you following the chain of distortions here, Butch?

The French, they know something about class, class warfare, and revolution. A revolution is a pretty messy, inefficient way to redistribute wealth, but one that people finally turn to when they see no alternative. The history of the French Revolution tells of men who tried to reform, but were rebuffed, stymied, and outmaneuvered by the entrenched nobility. It tells of misspending on foreign wars, an indecisive king, and a broken tax system that allowed the very richest to push the burden back onto the rest of society.

Sound familiar?

Beyond that, do your own homework for a change.

From your link...

"...a tweet that Fawkes sent in October linking to a website that listed the personal information of ranking Boston police officers."

Hmmm... so idiotic OWS Libs/Lefties are outraged at the prospect of THEIR "personal information" being released after THEY promoted the release of "personal information" of others?!!  LOL ! ! !

I use ows to represent the movement in general...as far as disavowing that does not make any difference... the person I was talking with made clear their thoughts on the subject and that is all that counts.
