Awareness- I see your point about pro domming being transactional but I don't agree with, in the sense that pro dommes serve a very different purpose. No, going to a pro domme is not the same thing as having the kink in your life, with a 'real' partner, for obvious reasons, there generally is no emotional attachment with much of it (some pro dommes have regular clients, and their relationship is often a bit more complicated, but still). On the other hand those who go to pro dommes are people who may not be seeking to live it, or to find an outlet for it where it isn't available in their 'real lives'....it is fantasy, it is play, and it is safe in many ways. Yes, it scratches an itch, so to speak, but what is wrong with that? Are their pro dommes doing it just for money? Sure, and many of them quite frankly stink, but there are a lot of them that either are lifestyle or honestly enjoy doing it as a pro and that is all they want, but they are into it. If you read some of the books by women who have worked as pro dommes (usually pretty negative) it is the girl who wandered into this to make money, and they sit and whine about how weird it is, etc, and I did sessions with at least one of them, and it was quite obvious she was doing it for money (did do it with another pro domme who used to write a collumn in a NY free weekly paper, and she was fantastic, because she was into it). Good pros serve a purpose, and many of them while they make a living at it, actually enjoy doing it for the most part IME *Shrug*
