Understatement of the thread payingoinker... but on your plus side you have tried to rectify it.. more than once.. being concise is your best bet..good luck with your posts here

MissImmortalPain -> RE: ProDoms are fake? (1/28/2012 4:30:56 PM)

It most likely would have been helpful if you had said something about wanting to know other peoples opinions, but thank you for clearing it up. As to that part about wanting to know why a a person does it. I have to ask what makes you think you have a right to that information? I mean do you ask your mechainic why he is one? Do you ask your doctor if he,or she, is doing it because they truely want to help a person or because they like the cash?

payingoinker -> RE: ProDoms are fake? (1/28/2012 4:48:11 PM)

I have the right to ask before I spend money. They don't have to tell me, but I don't have to contract for their services. I doubt someone would last very long as a Pro by being that secretive.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: ProDoms are fake? (1/28/2012 4:50:52 PM)

hahahahahahahahahaha I would answer this comment seriously, if I could. Do you really believe most men ask why? Or care why for that matter? Do you believe that random women are just going to give you reasons or do you think they will lie?

I ask my daughters orthodontist if he was recommending treatment just for the money. He said no, he had enough money (he past retirement age). I knew he was doing this because he liked the work, which made me feel at ease.

I wouldn't to go to a ProDomme who is doing this because it is the only scheme that can pay the bills. I doubt her heart would be in and I doubt she would be very good. So yes, I wojuld certainly ask.

I am not like "most men". I would certainly ask and I can tell pretty quickly if someone is BSing me.

Just want to make myself perfectly clear...I just can't win today lol

MissImmortalPain -> RE: ProDoms are fake? (1/28/2012 5:08:47 PM)

I should say I'm sorry for laughing in my last comment. Sorry. But to be honest I have never met a man that thinks he is like every other guy. As for being bsed or people hiding things. I hope you understand that most people in the sex industry lie about things they do, and they lie for some pretty good reasons.

No need to apologize..thanks for your comments

Please try to calm down, MIP. That looked slightly worrying.

Awareness-

I see your point about pro domming being transactional but I don't agree with, in the sense that pro dommes serve a very different purpose. No, going to a pro domme is not the same thing as having the kink in your life, with a 'real' partner, for obvious reasons, there generally is no emotional attachment with much of it (some pro dommes have regular clients, and their relationship is often a bit more complicated, but still). On the other hand those who go to pro dommes are people who may not be seeking to live it, or to find an outlet for it where it isn't available in their 'real lives'....it is fantasy, it is play, and it is safe in many ways. Yes, it scratches an itch, so to speak, but what is wrong with that? Are their pro dommes doing it just for money? Sure, and many of them quite frankly stink, but there are a lot of them that either are lifestyle or honestly enjoy doing it as a pro and that is all they want, but they are into it. If you read some of the books by women who have worked as pro dommes (usually pretty negative) it is the girl who wandered into this to make money, and they sit and whine about how weird it is, etc, and I did sessions with at least one of them, and it was quite obvious she was doing it for money (did do it with another pro domme who used to write a collumn in a NY free weekly paper, and she was fantastic, because she was into it). Good pros serve a purpose, and many of them while they make a living at it, actually enjoy doing it for the most part IME *Shrug*

Lauren,
I'm sorry to say you are wasting your breath. (ok, in this case typing fingers) but it doesn't matter how you explain it, he is entrenched in his views and will never change them. I just ignore it now because I know he will never attempt to understand this. (and that's ok.)
You're very well spoken, and make good points, (and it's very possible other people will benefit from them) but the person you addressed your answer to never will.

Prob not, but in discussions like these I am not necessarily trying to change a poster's mind, but rather it is to give my opinion that may or may not help someone else. I heard a lot of crap about pro dommes when I was in the so called 'serious bd/sm' scene (that often, quite frankly, took itself so seriously it made me cringe, acted like PTA members or something), about how they weren't real, etc, and I guess having been in that world as a client and knowing some pretty damn cool, caring people who gave a lot of themselves to their clients and what they offered, I wanted to strike a blow on their behalf, too:)

i suggest you read his profile...pay attention to the captions of the photos if he hasn't taken it down already.

As far as your comment about taking down my pics because there are animals in them, I'll leave them for you to study. Maybe you could warn people that you also think I abuse cartoon characters because I have a SpongeBob Squarepants pillow in a cage?  If you look carefully, there is a bag of Puppy Chow in that photo. I'm sure you can come with something for that.  Seriously, why run around with just one foot in your mouth when you have two of them?

After crediting you for having experience and speculating that you made this post in sincerity, I asked you a question about what type of "feelings" you were talking about in your profile.  Then I gave you some advice to clean up your profile so you don't look like an emotional mess.  I presumed you were rational enough to know I was talking about how your profile made you look, not who you really are as a person.   I even extended my wishes for you to find a suitable partner with a heart of gold.

Please forgive me for being presumptuous.  I retract my advice as your profile seems an accurate reflection of who you are.  I will comment on it no further. I hope you find the comforts you need.

BTW, that's a goat not a sheep.  The truth behind the photo is that having a goat as a fan boy is far more embarrassing than your attempted jibe and I have already shared it on CollarMe.  When the goat attacked my new girl because it was jealous my old girl was gone . . . well, that's when you get T-shirts made and it becomes a local dungeon conversation topic.  Maybe if you ram your head into enough stuff, we can make a T-shirt for you too?

I don't care about the animals, RS - but did you obtain that beard's consent before including it in your photos?

For the same reason it's generally not a wise move to hire a whore.  There's an inability for an individual to go out and find what he wants, so instead he marks time and tosses his money away.  If a guy wants to get laid, hiring a whore is the final admission of defeat.  The acknowledgement that you can't go out and conquer the kind of woman you want, so you'll hire one temporarily.

Perhaps that's part of the problem.  We've seen LadyPact speak on the numbers game which male subs confront and male subs aren't exactly going out and reeling the dommes in.  That's the problem when you're fundamentally a supplicant with no power in the game.  At least female subs have their sexuality, but the majority of male subs seem to think servile fawning is a winning strategy.  Consequently, if one such hires a Pro Domme, he's not doing a damn thing to advance his chances, he's effectively pissing money and time down the drain masturbating until the money runs out or the thrill is gone.

Let's contrast the attitude to "ProDommes" and the behaviour expected of Doms.  We just had what is probably a fictitious poster detail a 2 year saga involving a Dom she fellated and gave money to.  The consensus was that she was being taken for a ride.  Yet, this is pretty much exactly what happens with a ProDomme or FinDomme except they have a handy book of justifications for it.  Oh, I forgot - they're "providing a service".  Which service?  I'll let you worship me and pay for the privilege?  Christ.  I wouldn't spin that tale even if I could get away with it.

You'll have to forgive old Blushie.  She's not used to encountering anyone with a spine, she's spent too much time amongst her clients to know how to deal with a man who won't tolerate her bullshit.  That's why she goes for the attempted character assassination.  Classic chick move.

Ultimately, the problem has to do with money. When you bring something down to the level of money, it begins to look dirty. Just like a politician that runs for public office....if he's rich, he looks dirty. If he's not rich, he comes off looking normal, cleaner, and more pure. A woman who has sex because she's in love is a beautiful thing. A woman who has sex because the guy is paying her looks very dirty. There is a huge difference here. Money makes things look dirty.

Pro-doms bring the BDSM interaction down to the level of money. They appear dirty, greedy, and cold. They start to resemble gold-diggers (and some of them are). So that is where most of the negativity is originating from.
