I had been hearing about the group Anonymous attacking a site called American Third Position, stating that they discovered upon hacking the site that Ron Paul had close ties with the group and met a number of times with members and had conference calls with the Board of Directors.

I was skeptical, watched the news, checked the web sites... not too many credible sources were touching this.

Then I found this...

http://articles.businessinsider.com/2012-02-01/europe/31011989_1_bnp-emails-hacker-group

And this...

http://www.examiner.com/anonymous-in-national/hunting-nazis-anonymous-snares-ron-paul-operation-blitzkrieg

For actual emails...

http://pirasec.com/a3p_wnn_private_messages.html

This doesnt look so good. I am not saying he is guilty of anything. And I would love for others to research all this out. I know many of you have fingers in many facets of on line and off line activities.

However, the take over of the site appears to have been real.

Helpful hint: if you want to see Ron Paul mentioned in those voluminous emails, CTRL-F is your friend.

at least some mother fuckers are trying to get people to wake up and smell the coffee about how completely goddamn ridiculously evil our government is, the question really is will anyone actually ever do anything with the information? Sadly I don't think we will, I think anyone angry enough at the government to do something is waiting for their neighbor to throw the first stone out of fear that when they do do something they'll just be one lone unsupported idiot standing there waiting for the feds to fire back after making a stand for freedom. So basically we're pretty much destined for a police state. Gingrich and Romney sure as hell aren't going to repeal NDAA and the patriot act even if they had the power to and we sure as hell haven't seen the end of SOPA, PIPA, and they're vaster more damaging counterpart that's definitely going through ACTA. So we're all basically just sitting here waiting to be chipped, rounded up, and sent off to work the salt mines in the next 20 years.

Good question. So what are you planning to do with it?

Having perused the email site a bit, what is it about RP that brings such as white supremacists as supporters? Could it be Paul's constitutional belief in the freedom of association? Taxation? Freedom of religion without government interference? Paul's stance on the 10th amendment? etc.

Lets juxtapose Paul's heinous supporters with those of Romney and Gingrich. Romney is well funded by the Banksters. Gingrich is a Washington insider par excellence; Fannie and Freddie Mac?. Both are beholden to corrupt entities. Are those supporters virtuous? Are they deserving of a supportive pass not allowed to Paul? Someone has to help Paul fund his campaign, so why not people who agree with him? Are they better or worse than those who own Romney and Gingrich? Is it about the message or the supporters of the messenger?

Now, just what is Liberty?

oh, dude I totally understand that, Ron Paul is the closest thing to a good candidate we've had in over a decade. But and it's a big but, almost a ghetto booty sized one, he's probably not going to get into office and is just going to instill false hope enough in us that things can get better that they'll have plenty of time to get worse til we go back to hating our government. And even if he did get into office he'd probably just get sniped by the CIA like Kennedy or something equally horrible, poor guy.

You want to hurt those in power and to prevent a police state? Here is how: stop abusing drugs.

How about his own history as a racist and anti-Semite?

tazzy I did not read your links...they may be true or they may not...but... I am the type person that will make judgments according to legally collected information... I will not trust, and you should not either, an unlawful group that thinks they have the right to invade others privacy. It is like the old "The end justifies the means" argument…will it doesn't.

It amazes me how many people who stand behind and use the Constitution to further their beliefs against the establishment…yet are willing to throw the Constitution out the window to further their personal agenda.

I lady I have dated on occasion from providence is a professor of psychology at brown and back when Paul was doing a virtual  shadow republican party in 08, she was fascinated with that aspect and actually had students that were either doing something for credit or just discussing it at some depth. Anyway, she told me she felt there was as aspect of  consternation among his supporters that worked to his favor. She said that usually that effect is a hindrance to someone seeking some goal out of others, but for whatever reason (and she did say it could be as simple as the country-boy accent he spoke with), that not only caused a messianic fondness among his devotees, but also cause people to read things into his speeches.
I haven't seen here in about a year and a half. But I should really catch up and see how she's doing. Thanks for the reminder.

You bring up a good point Butch... how about an example 'plucked right out of the headlines'?

Let the shit slinging begin. I don't understand why anyone would believe
anything thrown around during an election. As Nixon said " the retoric worked
again". Elections have become a game of trying to choose the lessor of two evils.

Stern I think the examples are obvious there is no need to point out specific examples…Others have many times on this board and are shouted down. This thread is an example. But there are other less obvious instances.

Often this hypocrisy is innocent and not intended directly. Anytime one group is exercising their ”Constitutional right” they are often stomping on the rights of others that are innocent and not even in opposition.

For instance when the port was closed down the occupy movement was exercising their right of protest but at the same time they were denying the right to work for innocent port workers.

When the roads are blocked this put some people in need of emergency services at risk…Others lost much needed income because they were unable to get to work.

Yes this is the price we pay for liberty but theses facts should not be overlooked or forgotten. And believe me they will not forget.

Many times in the movement we have seen people denied their Constitutional right of free speech by being shouted down just as we have seen the protestors themselves denied their rights. There are no innocents on either side in this movement even if well intentioned.

Butch

Anonymous is CIA. If they were regular people, they would have been neutralized long ago.

And who cares if Ron Paul has met with or has support from white nationalists? Sound the alarm! White guilt alert! Barack Obama had met with and had support from black nationalists. Who cares?

Ron Paul is not a white nationalist, just as Barack Obama is not a black nationalist. Who cares?
