Status: offline 		This is slowly transitioning into my "I'm quitting" thread....lol
Question...is it cheating if I all of a sudden switch to 100's,lol....walked the dog,got in my car ran errands(a lot of errands) came home and had been up forover two hours when I smoked that fist cigarette.
That sucker got inhaled,and inhaled quickly,before I knew it I was smoking a fucking filter....lol.
But I'm sticking to the program(as if She would let me off the hook now) I will get ready to play a round of golf,smoking my second cigarette on the way to the course.Leaving the pack home

Status: offline 		New rule,no smoking in my car,s I played golf(where I have decided there is no more smoking...lol) with the cigarettes in the car,waited till I got home...than had my third of the day.
If I can eliminate the occasions when I feel it is okay to smoke....I can whittle down the smoking to a point where it just gets stupid to continue....lol

Remember that there is no shame to need help quitting. 20% of people who smoke find it easier to quit heroin than nicotine.
If you need Zyban or the patch or the e cigs, that's fine too. In this case it's the end that matters, not how you get there.

Status: offline 		Agreed Des,but I have,in the past tried most of those methods...and failed.
This time around I am going to go the wean myself off method....just try like hell to cut down the nicotine that I introduce to my body,while mentally convincing myself that the things I love to do,can be accomplished without a cigarette dangling from my lips.
Guaranteed results? No way,just another attempt,my doctor once told me it doesn't matter how many times I fail,that I only need to succeed once

Status: offline 		The quitting program took a serious hit yesterday,it being "date" night and Her being scary as all get out to me
So,i fell backwards a little bit yesterday,must have smoked 15 17 cigarettes(though I smoked them nervously,which is to say,not completely,they would get lit,held in my hand put out early...etc.etc The program will be rejoined tomorrow,I never thought it was going to be smooth and easy,not with all the shit She is putting me thru at the same time

Status: offline 		Yes She does,but She smokes too...so She told me,in light of what She knows is my extreme edginess(hell She works hard enough to put me there)that i can have 1 cigarette cost free(no 5 minute rice rule) for every three She smokes...but it is the day leading up to date night that knocked me off the perch.
The new ground She is making me walk,has my knees shaking a bit,when i'm nervous falling back on crutches seems like the only sane reaction.
But i have vowed ,driving back from the hotel this afternoon,that i will not work hard all week to limit my smoking to once again let it blow up just cause the calendar says Thursday.....i have more backbone than that...or at least i hope i do

Status: offline 		Well.......She is trying to be,She gives me props for trying to quit,She is proud of me when i do well...but She is a smoker,plain and simple and has never ,as far as i know,expressed a desire to quit.
Would it be easier for Her to take a hard case view of my smoking were She not a smoker ?
Perhaps...but as i kneel nightly on short grain rice(hurts worse than long grain...much to my surprise) to the tune of 5 minutes for each cancer stick ,I do wonder how She would accomplish that

My whole family lit up, too. I'm the first to quit at less than 60 years old. When I did it, I switched brands, got on zyban, went to a hypnotist, tapered, sucked on a straw, played with a pencil, visualized myself tobacco-free, kept telling myself how much they stank, how muc my clothes, my car, my house stank... it worked. I tapered doen to two cigarettes on Jan 22, 1999. Woke up Sunday the 23rd, said "today's the day" and haven't had one since. And haven't had any urges,

Status: offline 		Anyone can be Hypnotized especially Highly intelligent people...We are hypnotized everyday (Religion, Media, Tv, Movies, Even driving & even hypnotize ourselves)...

Not every Professional uses the same techniques.

Status: offline 		Self inflicted punishment for so egregiously falling wide of the mark yesterday,and large parts of today.....instead of riding out 2 weeks at 7....it is 6 a day starting tomorrow,no more maybe less if I somehow fall into a coma like sleep......lol
