ORIGINAL: OsideGirl Most of the gun activity here is drug money based gangs mostly made up of immigrants. The drugs and the guns come over the border and get resold in alleys. The amount of guns that would have to be stolen to supply criminals isn't realistic. Yes, some have been stolen from law abiding citizens. But, then again, someone in LA had their car stolen and used in a high speed chase. I am sure it varies state to state but imo, the cat is out of the bag and has been for so long that guns are everywhere in the US and it would be impossible to gather them up now (so again, I an understand where you are coming from and your reasons for getting a gun).. Canada never really had the problem of tons of guns floating around so it was easy to implement more restrictive gun control there... Its also not a simple problem since its also about very different attitudes and cultures (US compared to Canada or other countries).. But given what Aswad said about Norway, I think I would be more freaked out by living there than the US.. the cat is well and truly out of the bag, but does that mean we have to let it run wild? I can't believe that the answer to too many guns is even more guns I don't believe that the answer would be taking guns away from law abiding citizens.....but letting the criminals keep their guns. Because they clearly already don't give a shit about gun laws anyway. Again....your basing what a law abiding citizen should own based on what a criminal is doing. So let's take your car away because people illegally street race or could drive it through a farmer's market.
