Ted should be proud, more government money wasted on having the SS pay him a visit.

What a douche canoe.

Statements like the the one you have made here make me ashamed to live in a country I have loved my whole life.

The laws haven't changed recently....just wingnuts like Nugent that make threats, or say things purposely inciteful, are making the enforcement more obvious.

There actually was a time when people on oposite sides of the political isle could discuss, even have heated discussions, about political differences without the extreme verbage being the norm it is now.

The law dates from 1917 and has been upheld by a variety of courts.

How, precisely, does my stating facts make you ashamed to live in the US?

I was too lazy to look but assumed something along those lines.

Really? You hope Nugent keeps his promise? You want him to assassinate the President? Really?

Well congratulations Scuri, you have the correct guess this time. Cause my brother and I had a roaring laugher session over that LOSER while I was warming back up in the car from surfing all day... He no longer can take a piss without the secret service watching it in color.
His sense is that his former colleagues are going to demonsrate to all the right wingers and PC types that want to hang them over the hooker thing have nowhere to hide.
It's funny how Mitt Romney is being dumb enough to try and assert there would be ANYTHING he could do about the Service. In reality, because of their unique role in national security, they report exclusively to the Director. Even the Secretary of the Treasury needs to go through them.
My next post will paint a picture of 'manly Ted' that might surprise some of his fans won't find to impressive. But it's WHO HE REALLY IS.
I HOPE Mr Romney is happy with the kind of loathsome trash his pathetic positioning strategy of "Piling On" of endorsements in an effort to try and appear legitimized outside his neocon base before entering the convention. Shit like this just goes to show the caliber of man he is. AND YEAH, he did hit the Limbaugh WANNABE up for endorsement.

The problem is he did NOT actually say anything about killing the president. Does no one know what metaphoric speech is anymore.

Guess what, it's been a federal offense to METAPHORICALLY, or otherwise wish the president's demise as a public utterance for nearly 100 Years. Otherwise, it would be WEEKLY segment on the Limbaugh Show.
He probably won't but he OUGHT to be charged with the offense.
He will however WISH to god he had been charged over the next few months.
No offense, but I don't think you'll find a bigger proponent of free speech here. In as much as I have gone to jail for it once already this year, and may a few more times. Making a even joking threat of murder via a public venue is nothing near what I would call an act of free speech.
Personally, it wouldn't matter to me so much that it's toward the president even. I would feel the same way if he made that remark with you as the object as well.

Oh, well lemme tell ya, he's been wasting OODLES of our money out there in Michigan with his little "wildlife reserve" I don't know if it's still up even, in as much as here he's got some money issues. But it required/requires frequent inspection by the government due to some of the species he keeps/kept there. There have also been questions raised in the past about invasive species with regard to his property in the past as well.
He likes killing animals that5 can't fight back... and maybe the police should be looking into whether he's graduated to more complex organisms... I hear there are a lot of missing people in Michigan.

I DO rather well by the way... this statement below is tacit and credible threat (consult your local DA if you don't wish to believe me).
A metaphoric statement would be more like "we're all dead if <insert person in disfavor here> gets re-elected".

Now, that said, I certainly HE is fucking fence-post-dumb enough to think he could say what he did and easily disclaim it using the word metaphor... I totally buy that.

Anybody ever hear how Nugent dodged the draft back in the 60s?
Lemme tell ya, I read not just the High Times interview he gave, but also an interview with a High School friend of Nugent's confirming that he shit himself for days drank noxious concoctions intent on creating foul bodily smells, and ranted at the induction staff at his local induction center about various anti-American sentiments until they finally decided he was faking but more trouble than he was worth, stamped him 4F and booted his ass out the door.
Since that interview he has said first that he did do something like that but nowhere near that bad and in the past 5 years or so, he has gone from denying completely that he did the interview to his present position that he was joking when he gave the interview.
I wonder how veterans, left and right in their politics feel about this guy. I have never served in the military, so I can't really be that sure what you'd think.
I DO know this, based on all I have heard of this asshole, it's my opinion that he's just a fucking liar and pretty much anybody speaking on his behalf is wasting their time.

Wonder if they'll do it via a stopover in Colombia?

Heh ... I've been to motorcycle weekend in Loudon with their unofficial bike club. I will NEVER go again... trust me, THAT is moderation. They play the game very straight when the man is around. However, their advance team scene is decidedly different.
Had two of em crash at my apartment when Pope John Paul visited Boston ... won't do that again either... I had some serious issues standing on the side of Comm ave waving at the pontif as he passed the next day .

He's still running the canned hunt ranch last I heard.

Also keep in mind he's the worst sort of hunter. He got caught in CA a few years back taking a yearling buck using bait (both are against the law there) and are not well thought of anywhere.

BIG FUCKING FAIL... Providence Civic Center 1977 ... my classmates (like 20 of them all had front row seats off one of our classmates who's Dad was owner of the Providence Reds AHL Team). Ted was smoking weed the whole show and throwing 1/2 finished joints into the front row. They were finishing them. I can go right onto facebook and ask half of em if it was catnip if there are any concerns.

Here's a real quote from a REAL ROCK LEGEND who never lied about his past present or future ... "Well you know Tom, I'm no health nut" - Jerry Garcia

I just stopped following his filthy treatment of animals when I saw that Dubyah was showing up at his shows when his old man was president. That signaled me that he had the seal of approval and nothing would be done.
Maybe the Service will now shut down the petting zoo from hell as part of their 'treatment'.

One of two reasons. Either I have no right to voice my opinion, even if it was only to a friend. Or I commented a crime and was never punished for it. Neither makes me very proud of how the country works.

Then Change It... and you can't do that hanging around GOP suck-ups like Nugent.
You DO have a voice, take it down the street. And don't listen to timid people who can't leave the internet and would rather condemn those who have the balls to go downtown and start the ball rolling.
Trust me, the pride comes rushing back like a dose of your favorite substance... even if it's just plain old fresh air.
