Politesub53 -> Rebekah Brooks charged by police (5/15/2012 3:42:09 AM)

Brooks, her husband and others have been charged with perverting the cource of justice in the UK, by destroying evidence in the phone hacking case. Camerons closeness to her could come back to haunt our Prime Minister. Blair and co will also be keeping an eye on what comes out in the wash.

I'm not very big on old fashioned chivalry but I do hope this is a case of 'Ladies before gentlemen' and that Ms Brooks is the first in a long line of News Corp people to have to face justice.

Let's hope the politicians who sucked up to Brooks et al at News Corp will have their turn in the dock too.

Given that US Corporations engaging in corrupt behaviours overseas in a crime in the US, it is getting increasingly difficult to see how Murdoch and his cronies will escape investigation and prosecution in the US too .......

How cruel, poor Rebekah, is she not "Guilty" before being tried in an English Court of Law, how can she have a fair trial, media coverage, (be that some of it was generated by Rebekah, herself) any trial is Preudicial.

There are many men should be down the line, in front of Rebekah, her birthday in two weeks time, a 44th to remember.

This Master has just posted a message about Rebekah on the Depression topic, this is quite depressing news.

tj444 -> RE: Rebekah Brooks charged by police (5/15/2012 4:24:25 AM)

Interesting that the first charges are about destroying or hiding evidence and not about hacking itself.. its not the act they are charged with but rather the cover-up..

why was the chauffeur charged? that is sorta strange.. if all he was was a driver..

misterraymond -> RE: Rebekah Brooks charged by police (5/15/2012 4:26:33 AM)

Master is depressed can not spell Prejudicial or Prejudiced this day.

Master though better correct it, before the wave of terror hits him,

MR

This is the commencement, more charges will certainly follow........??

prosecution in the US

It will happen, but if it is just, this Master is far from sure.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall, is it that kind of witch hunt.

Rupert had better be a proper Master now, and save little Rebekah.

I'd suspect that this is what I was saying was going to happen all along: Brooks was only brought to the tribunal to carry the can for the Murochs in case criminal proceedings were taken against somebody.
Certainly a few more senior employers should be in the dock with her, but don't hold your breath.

You and I, this Master, certainly would not wish to carry this can, its full of WORMS,

Indeed Master would not even let his slaves attempt to carry this can, poor Rebekah.

I think the lady's job description was extended to cover that when the trouble got rolling, sadly.
Remember the fuss over Ross and Brand making obscene phone calls on air? The Beeb promoted a couple of junior administrators on Radio One's staff to producers in case they had to fire somebody over that.
It isn't any fun being set up as a captive goat, but I honestly can't say I feel any sympathy for Rebekah Brooks over that.

(As for that whole "no fair trial, prejudged before she shows her face in court" thing, are you for real? How many people did Brooks do that to herself when she was editing NOTW? She's lived by that sword, and now, hopefully, she's going to get sent down by it.)

That's not atypical. The illegality of the destruction of evidence is clearer and easier to charge.

Lock the whole fucking lot of em up and let Murdock and his staff watch the Olympics from London Tower... They still have those cells there, right? Having real prisoners there will liven it up for tourists.

It's actually quite common. Since that is the 'detectable' crime after the fact.

Rebekah was overwhelmed with the power of her watch, give her a break, you said it CAPTIVE GOAT.

Question "who are the lot" ( This is a big picture)

misterraymond -> RE: Rebekah Brooks charged by police (5/15/2012 7:09:34 AM)

Rebekah was charged today at Hammersmith Police Station London W1, charged with three counts of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.the Murdoch newspapers globally wishing to come to Rebekahs defence risk contempt of Court, this Master is not sure how sharp this sword of Ruperts can be, this Master thinks maybe razor sharp.

misterraymond -> RE: Rebekah Brooks charged by police (5/15/2012 7:13:33 AM)

Interesting, as for David Camerons e-mails, signed off LOL.....................??

Lily Alen is reported as quoting "Lots of Lawyers"

This statement is more than true.

This Master will say "Lots of Lolly" ................Lolly slang for money. ( into lawyers pockets, nice )

There's people who can complain about being unjustly villified by the press and public opinion queering their chances of a fair trial, but I'm very dubious that Rebekah Brooks is one of them. The main word that springs to my mind about her standing trial is karma.
