Interesting query
How do we waste less time? How about not counting on ANYONE until you meet in person? How about maintaining a level of skepticism with every conversation. How about dealing with people as you would in real life? I mean.. you know.. you probably are not going to ask someone to move in with you simply because they say they love you, right? Or are you?

Time is a ridiculous measure of effort in a virtual world.

which should appeal to EVERYONE on this website or any other....i.e. how do we minimize wasting our time on fakes and liars?

amaidiamond -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:10:12 PM)

Pssst... there is only one person looking silly in this thread ;)

pshornyguy -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:10:28 PM)

No, Lockit, you FABRICATE comments or personal defects which you then attribute to me.

From the inception of this discussion, I have made it clear that I was asking a question that applies to any website...but which may be particularly pertinent to websites such as this one because it seems to attract a disproportionate number of fakes and liars.

If your position is that there is no problem here -- then fine. Please exit this discussion and move on to something that interests you.

If your position is that you agree that there is a problem with fakes and liars on this site -- then why not become part of the potential solution by offering some clear suggestions about how to address the problem?

If your position is that, yes, there may be a problem with fakes and liars, but there is nothing practical that can be done about it -- then simply state that and stop attacking me with endless personal insults and snide comments about what you think is my sex life or lack of it or whatever bizarre reasoning you are using.

amaidiamond -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:11:43 PM)

Ok Dude - the MODERATOR has told you it IS NOT happening

You can offer as many solutions to your percieved problem as you want but you are wasting your virtual breath

pshornyguy -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:13:21 PM)

Good ideas --- but before you would agree to meet somebody in person, wouldn't you want to know they are genuine?

Wouldn't you also enjoy having an extended conversation without worrying about whether or not the person you are chatting with is just trying to manipulate you and your feelings?

Let's stick to the topic which is not telling others how to post.  That's part of my job.

Simple solution there, if they are genuine chances are they will meet you at a munch or event reasonably quickly.

pshornyguy -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:15:09 PM)

I did not expect that I would be successful in getting my idea accepted. Instead, I was trying to start an amicable and rational discussion about the problem.

Unfortunately, I did not anticipate that I would encounter such hostility and personal vituperation just for offering an idea for comment.

Back to original point - next time SEARCH and when you see pages of threads pretty much the same you can read those and see how they turned out

You didn't, but why bring the truth into things now when you're on a roll.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:18:03 PM)

You know what the really funny/sad thing is? In a way I agree with the op. Not as far as this site goes but the net in general. So I.Q tests(even though they have been proven to be wrong) and integrity tests(even though sociopaths can get around those) all around. Now I would like someone to tell me what the maybe six or seven overly honest, moral, intelligent people that will be left to talk to each other on the net are going to do when they get bored with each other.

pshornyguy -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:18:10 PM)

Well, perhaps most of the people you contact are located near you? Most of the time, the persons I chat with are living in another state (or country!). Often, they want me to host them on their first visit....which I am often reluctant to do, unless I know they are genuine.

OK---go ahead -- make some nasty personal comment about me now---so you can assert your moral and intellectual superiority.

Honestly?  No.  See, if you are really concerned about wasting your time, you get smart and don't invest any before actually meeting someone.  It works pretty good for Me.

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:19:22 PM)

pshornyguy, dude. I skimmed - really fast - through all twelve pages. It just about killed me, haha. But it didn't, so here's my input:

You are HIV+. You "Live For" watersports. That's exchange of HIV-infected bodily fluids with someone else and possibly infecting them too. What part of that sounds safe or even sane to you? You would be purposely spreading a killer virus to other people. With people who think like you out there, it's no damn wonder STDs are rnning rampant. If you're not getting a lot of mail, THAT just might be why. No one in his right mind would want to sign his own death sentence like that.

Secondly, blacklists are a bad idea. Just because someone is a fake or wannabe to YOU, it doesn't mean he isn't someone ELSE'S perfect mate. Also, people use blacklists to get back at others for some real or imaginary wrongdoing. How would YOU like someone to get his nose out of joint with you for whatever reason and put YOU on a blacklist? Yeah, I'm sure you wouldn't like that. Point made.

NBMG

Why on earht would I want to make a personal comment about you? I do not know you from Adam.

And yes I contact people in the UK, seems kinda pointless looking further afield as i have no interest in extended Cyber exchanges...

That said my Owner once drove 6 hours each way to meet someone for Pizza

OK--fine...let's use your formulation. Any ideas you care to share? How do you determine who is genuine and worth your time?

When I was actually searching for a Master I took some time to get to know them, spoke on the phone, and arranged to meet them in person for a cup of coffee in a vanilla public place. If they had no intentions of meeting for anything more than coffee or a single drink, then they weren't genuine to me. I don't play casually so the idea of playing on a first meet was out of the question.

If they were asshats or douchebags, I hid, block, deleted. Those buttons actually work, ya know. I don't have a saviour complex and don't see it as my job to "protect" other doms/subs/slaves from "fakes". If they can't figure it out on their own, that's their problem.

pshornyguy -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:21:35 PM)

Not really useful suggestion because there can always be fresh insights from new contributors or, perhaps, even changed positions by older contributors who have thought about some idea over a long period of time

Your proposal is actually a form of censorship which I instinctively recoil from. Your essential premise is that nobody should dare bring up something which has been previously discussed. Shame on you.

I don't usually speak for the site (VideoAdminAlpha does that), but I believe I can safely say that we do not allow the "information list" either.

Allow me to give you an example of why.  We have stated many times that when you report a photo, each and every photo reported is reviewed by a real person.  It is not an autosystem.  Despite this, people will use one or more accounts to repeatedly report the same photos, trying to get us to take them down.

So, in that vein... Information List:

1.  pshornyguy told me he was 67 but he is really 77.  by JohnB, 6/8/2012
2.  pshornyguy said he would meet me at the park but he never showed up.  by MikeC, 6/8/2012
3.  pshornyguy said he would always use a condom because he is HIVpos, but once he had me tied up he fucked me without one.  by LarryM, 6/9/2012
4.  pshornyguy told me he always keeps his house neat and clean, but when I got there, I could barely get in the front door due to the piles of trash everywhere. The stench was unbelievable.  by JimmyL, 6/10/2012

How does it feel now?  How does it feel to know that JohnB got angry at you and made all those other entries as well?  How do you get this information removed?  Why should anyone believe you and not these other guys?  Why should you spend time defending yourself when you know you've done nothing wrong?  What if the guy that is perfect for you sees this and decides that he doesn't need this kind of drama?

YAY 21!!!!!!!

Dude, you're in Palm Springs. I can't believe you are unable to find someone local.

amaidiamond -> RE: Fakes and Liars on CM (6/9/2012 1:22:58 PM)

No - bring it up all you want but at least if you had READ the prior threads you would have KNOWN that the idea is not popular then it would not come as a surprise no-one is into it
