You won't get anywhere with this, anyway, Sanity. Liberals believe Big Brother should control everything from the cradle-to-the-grave, anyway.

They're the "submissives" of the political spectrum.

First off, there is only two states that don't have compulsory car insurance. In both states the prices are incredibly lower.

Michael

Would you happen to have a cite for that?

According to this: http://personalinsure.about.com/cs/vehicleratings/a/blautominimum.htm
Liability insurance is required in every state. Failure to carry liability insurance can end up with a person jailed.

Would you have a credible citation for that because ALL of the last erosions of indiviualism and rights and invasive laws have been originated and promulgated by teabaggers and neo-cons, and they haven't been liberal in nature.

DaddySatyr -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 10:39:34 AM)

Actually, I mis-spoke/typed/whatever. There's only one state left.

However, you don't have to be an economist to know that any "product" required by law is going to cost more. Think of just about any product (smoke detectors, car insurance, motorcycle helmets, etc.) and do the research yourself. I like you, William but I'm done doing other peoples' research for them.

Now, in fairness, you could claim that the requiring of a bond is a form of insurance and you be right but, I think it just points up that insurance companies, doctors and lawyers own our asses . This law should have been called (L)ove (L)etter to the (I)nsurance (I)ndustry or "Big Brother Make Further Strides into Private Business (I'm referencing their partnership with tobacco since The Commander-in-Heat was in office).

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Which one is it? According to what I dug up, all 50 and DC require liability. Florida used to be a nightmare before universal insurance was passed in the mid-late 80's. If someone hit you, you could count on "no Englie, no Insurie" and it was expensive as hell even for good drivers because of that. When they passed the law and managed to close the loopholes, my rates went down.

DaddySatyr -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 10:48:08 AM)

What this means, is the Fed will no longer see a dime of my money.

hmmm....lets see how thats going to work....

ya aint going to drive to work.....gas taxes
ya aint going to have lights on in ur home..... several taxes there...
ya aint going to have a home.... property taxes....some of that goes back to the feds too in the form of Co. & state employee income taxes!
ya aint going to buy food cuz part of the profit from the sale goes to paying taxes of different kinds from the suppliers to the producers
same with clothes, shoes, socks, beer, haircut, soap ( u DO use some don’t ya?) ...computer, cell phone.

and of course, when they toss u in that hole after u kick the bucket..... somebody will pay taxes for the shovel to dump dirt on u...

..and the internet ur making that immensely & totally empty threat on.... unless ur leaching on someone else's paying for it.

nope.... Id say more than a dime, .....hope ur madder than u started out with,.... because the longer the wealthy get tax cuts, the more taxes (oops, they call them fees now ya know... ) ur going to pay no matter how much social program cuts are made....

New Hampshire, I believe

By Jove, he's got it. My link said 25/50/25 was required by law but I went to the NH state site and according to them, if you can prove you have enough $ in the bank to 'self-insure', you don't have to buy it. (My opinion is that it would be monumentally stupid because if you had that much cash lying around, the aggreived party's lawyers will look like a pack of zombies that had just smalled fresh brains)

DaddySatyr -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 11:00:59 AM)

Now, let's get down to the brass tacks:

I live in New Brunswick, NJ. I drive about 20,000 between work and pleasure (I use my car to get to clients). I have NO accidents, NO tickets, and I don't drink. I pay $636 every six months for car insurance. What would I pay in NH?

The last time I looked, it was less than $300 (and I think that might have even been for the year).

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Sanity -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 11:06:24 AM)

President Romney could simply refuse to enforce it

Just because that's his job, a president doesn't have to enforce laws that congress passes and the SC upholds, does he?

quote:

ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr

The one positive to this unconstitutional piece of crap is that SCOTUS has finally forced a clear consise policy statement from one of the baffoons running for office.

Gov. Romney has stated that he would strike down the law (ostensibly through executive order) his first day in office, should he get elected. "Obamacare was bad policy, yesterday and it's bad policy, today."

One of the baffoons just won my vote.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I pay about $500/year here but I carry about a half Mil in liability because of my work. When I was in miami, it was about $1500 for the minimum in the mid 80's then went down to about $1200 when they passed universal insurance. Here in TN, being stopped for an offense or at a road block no liability insurance means handcuffs and a ride downtown.

mnottertail -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 11:11:11 AM)

LOL, I pay $380 a year. Minnesota, a must have state.

Okay. let's do it this way, though (since we're talking compulsory vs. non-compulsory): What would YOU pay in New Hampshire? I am willing to guarantee that you would pay considerably less for car insurance.

I believe you can get free online quotes from progressive, geico (my auto insurer), and 21st Century.

You're not, as a matter of fact.
You don't have systems in place to feed the poor, house the homeless or provide national healthcare like us eurotrash lefties do.
What you do have are a few ludicrous joke systems that have been systematically nobbled since they were put in place and weren't any good in the first place.

480 and change. That's within about $20 of what I pay now in TN for the same liability coverage but I also have collision, PIP, towing, rental coverage and uninsured motorist. (now the fuckers are gonna spam me LOL)

DaddySatyr -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 11:30:00 AM)

"Uninsured Motorist" is another joke. What that is is: your state protecting itself because if an uninsured motorist hits you, you can sue the state (theoretically although I don't know if it happens, anymore, I know it did) because they failed to enforce their own law.

So, for example, in my state (and I think in mosts), you are also required to have an extra cost for an uninsured motorist because the state doesn't want you to sue them.

I sell insurance and I am opposed to this Love Letter to the Insurance Industry and obvious affront to the constitution. I hope (Not a threat) the 5 SCOTUS pukes die in a fire.

Peace and comfort,

Michael
